Princeton,
well the problem with most manual dsm's is that we can't build boost in neutral or by powerbraking. What if you had an removed assesory like the a/c and replaced it with something with a mini clutch that would put load on the engine?? and that shut off when you launched. How much load would you need??.

ya just get a stutter box! I have the TMO stage 3 and I can launch under boost its crazy!! I have crappy tires and suspension right now, If I launch under boost all I do is SPIN gotta love FWD!

TWITCH

i have a stutter box on an awd, love it, spin all four in first and a little bit of chirpping in second with no lift to shifts because it cuts ignition between gears too so it doesnt blow boost out the BOV. have 2 staging limiters and a way better spark, idle is very smooth now. oo i can launch with about 8-10 psi right now with it

How do I get a stutterbox? I have never heard of them until reading this thread

MSD DIS-2 that will get you the stutterbox. Is TMO still making those chips? Last I heard they had stopped.

DSMlink has built in studder box for those with 2Gs. I also used the MSD before I used the DSMlink and still have it installed for better spark. I can build 10psi of boost with 40percent of throttle leaving me the rest of the pedal to reduce bogging. THE MSD also does the no lift to shift which is great although I havn't used it yet. The new version of DSM link is supposed to ahve this no lift to shift feature as well.

MSD DIS-2 / DSMlink, are these fuel management systems? Sorry for the questions guys.

I don't get it. Whats the point of building boost in neutral if all you do is spin? Is it only DSMs that don't do this? For example, do the Supra and RX-7 build boost in neutral, or do they require this "stutterbox"?

If i floor it in neutral with my 18g it will hold 18 psi at the revlim. Prob not great for the engine though. Sounds cool to use the BOV in neutral.

You have clearly never launched a 4WD turbo. 8)

You want boost because it takes time to build it after launch, and you want your power there immediately for best results.

As for spinning; it takes quite a lot of effort to spin all 4 wheels...
