I just bougt a 1990 turbo eclipse and I was wondering in anyone new where I could pick up a HKS Super Mega Flow Intake?I seen it on the performance guide but it didnt give a dealer or where I could get one.

Thanks a lot for your help.It was pretty expensive when I saw it on the performance page. But I want to hit at least 400hp by my senior year which is in 2 years. So I figure if I am going to build a car I better do it right. Thanks again.

Yes my car is stock.I read up on the Apex filter along with the HKS and they both sound good. However the HKS uses a special oil to trap debris while the Apex does not but provides more airflow. The Apexi still blocked out more dirt so I think my money is going to Apexi.

Thanks Ryan-90

the HKS intake is good, but i heard that the filter just gets really dirty really fast and you have to clean it out alot.

Personally I'm just not a big fan of open intakes like that. The reason why? Heat! Yea, that nice open filter will pull in a little more air. But it will also incease your intake air temps by a minimum of 10 degrees. During the day when you run the car hard, it can vary up to even double that. My advice is buy a K&N and don't even hack the stock air-can. Yea, you'll get a little less airflow. But the cooler temps being brought in are much better for your car than that hot ass air. Plus that's 50 bucks compared to what, over 200? No compairson to me

If you lose 10hp from heat just turn up the boost another psi. Personally the riceboy in me says open element filter because you can hear the turbo spool so much louder. I just love the sound.

Yeah I know, function before fashion, but I just cant resist. :D

Running an open filter is one of the best ways to improve airflow. The airflow vs heat factor will sway into favor the airflow. Youll lose more HP restricing the airflow over sacrificing a few degrees. Also, if you really wanted to make a bigger difference about the heat factor, you could buy some air duct/HVAC material and build a "wall" to seperate the filter from the rest of the engine bay. Heres a few examples:

If these pics dont work, just check out http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html and click on "Intake" up on top of the page under "FAQ locator". Itll show you the pics and go through a step-by-step on how to build a "ram air". Good luck :thumb:
