Ok. I think I spun a rod bearing so I am going to use that as excuse to either a) pull it and build it up, or b) build up a 6 bolt. Keep in mind I have an auto, so crank walk isn't much of an issue for me. So if you had 3k to spend builindg up a motor and were in my situation, what parts would you use? I don't want absolute top of the line, I want best bang for the buck. I will be shooting for 400 WHP so I don't need anything insane. I will also be doing this entire build myself, with the exception of any machine work, so I will be sure to take plenty of pictures of the entire process. I am leaning more toward building up the current engine cause that will save some cash that I can put towards other parts. Anyways, for anyone who read this thanks for taking your time to read this.

if it were my build and i had 3000 heres what i'd do.

all new mitsu gaskets
ajusa, cometic, or some mls headgasket
eagle rods
wiesco pist. 8.3 or 8.5:1
acl or clevite main and rod berrings
prothane motor mounts
new frontcase/oilpump
new water pump and timing stuff (if needed)

in the head. . .
comp 101100 cams
maybe SS valves
i'd ###### leave the springs and retainers stock
a nice 5 or 7 angle valve job
maybe a little porting

otherwise if i had anything left, i'd go for a gmmas and maft setup and some 650's.
