ottawa,
I am getting 7-10psi of boost when the car is NOT under load and now the car is stuttering under WOT 20psi feels like an N/A. I am hitting 48 knock, with 7* tining at 86%throttle position. thanks.

With pump gas I assume? Your injectors might be a tad too small for a b16g @ 20 psi, but I can't say anything about boosting at idle.

No load, as in you're getting boost in neutral when you rev it? I could build about 7psi with my old 14b when I neutral rev'd. If that is NOT what you're talking about, then disreguard this post... :coy:

I have 560 injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump and rewired it which should be good.I double checked the timing which was dead on. Compression check, 1 month ago I got 150 all across and then i got 150, 150, 135, 135 couple of days ago so I figured that the head gasket went between the two cylinders (on the drivers side) and is sharing compression. I took the head off and saw that half the valves were white(driver side) and the other were alright (passenger side). The knock sencor is dead too, could that run it lean? My fuel pressure gauge was shaking and about 5psi quickly, I assume that isn't good especially under high boost applications, could it just be the gauge, or should i take a good look at that pump? Any other ideas while everything is apart.

thanks,

Marshall

i just put a new fuel filter on it.
2 things then, has it worked properly since the new filter? Possibly the bango bolt is not in the correct position.

If you have driven it and it worked fine, have you run out of gas or very close to since then? Freakish chance that you got a batch of dirty gas. Maybe put gas from a container or some thing and it had debris contaminint present.

I tell you man it sounds exectly like my car when the filter was clogged. Check the fuel lines, check the filter, check it all. I know the filter is a beyoch to get to so if you run out of options then go ahead and take a look.

thanks for the advice I'll check the banjo bolts and the lines.

Marshall

make sure the fuel filter is pointed the right way too. there should be an arrow on the side, the gas will only flow good one way.

damn, i have never pointed my banjo bolt the right way, now that i read this, it makes very good sense, imma make sure the hole in the banjo fitting on my fuel filter line is pointed towards the fuel line.....

Boost NOT under load? Is the gAUGE JUST READING BOOST OR IS IT ACTUALLY PRODUCING BOOST? Sorry for the caps!
I would check the fuel line as has been said Remove it and blow it out with compressed air. I am talking the filter to rail line. The 2 cylinders on my car run a bit lean so I am changing the filter to rail line to -6an fittings and SS line to remove that darn banjo bolt, it's quite a restriction. Then I may have to change the filter also. Try another gauge also but really sounds like you are not getting fuel. Let us know how you make out, please!? Mark

my bov goes off in nuetral so i am building boost and both gauges read it :notgood: and when I hiit the throttle while cruising instead of building up psi and pulling, it would pull for a couple of pounds and then just whip to what ever ammount of boost i set it to while feeling like on ramp excelration in an N/A no offense. I just finished seating my valves today and am going to check the fuel system tomorrow. ill let you know.

thanks,

marshall

You know the possibility of it being some thing else is totally present, however I will be suprised if it's not just a problem with your fuel lines/filter. Happened to me 2 months after changing mine (not kidding). Just happened to get some crap in there and it felt like the car was FUBAR'ed.

When my mechanic told me what had happened, I looked like this ---> WTF but then was hella relieved that it was just a 12 dollar part. I'll try to consider other possibilities and try not to let it get you down if this doesn't solve things. Good luck tomorrow....

wow... its good I found this thread. Last nite i completely finished installing my front mount intercooler with the sprayer and I turned the car on for the first time in months. about 20 minutes later I reved it and at about 4500 K... the boost gauge read 5 PSI and my F`n intercooler pipe came off on the front... yeah.... had to take my new carbon creations c.f front bumper off again (scared the crap out of me... thought I was going to break a bracket on the F`er). So I should check my fuel filter? To tell you the truth... i owned the car for 2 years and it sat for one and I don't think i EVER changed the fuel filter....or even did a tune up from a shop... I always did everything else myself... Timing belt, oil filter, oil changes, plugs, wires, pcv, and I think thats it.

just a few things that are going on with the car

-TPS or/and ICS are not working idles at 1500-2000

-Car runs CRAZY rich (I just know because my eyes burn like a mo fo and my SSAutoch.......I mean... :shhh: Turbo Manifold glows red even after a few revs)

-Thing TICKS like CrAzY... It sounds like the lifters... just 2x louder. The sound goes away after a while but shit... really gets to me. I have a feeling that the car skipped timming... sometimes the car feels like it wants to die when it randomly goes back to normal idle and there is like electrical noises comming from the valve cover ( I think the PCV moving back and forth really really fast.... someone help me with that one?)

Separate issues I believe. Reving in neutral to 4500rpm's can produce boost. Your car has sat for so long that you should change the filter anyways along with oil/filter. Buy a can of Chrysler/Mopar Combiustion Chamber Cleaner and follow the directions on the can, local dealer should have a can. Ignition Wires can go bad also so changing them wouldn't hurt.
Idle and ticking should/could go away with some idle/driving time.
Check for boost leaks also as couplers can shrink over time also. A general once over should be done as if you were buying a car that has sat for a while. mark

Ya it is normal but for the other stuff you gotta give her a chance (couple thousand mi.) to get all the caron and built up shit out as Mopar combustion chamber cleaner would help speed things up sa SWEET97 was saying, after that if it is still acting up then it is time for a check up, the ticking could be that the lifters may need cleaning. http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html

and as for the idle, the FIAV may just be stuck open and beed cleaning.

hope that helped.

so you think that i should just change my filter again? i don't have anything to lose
