This may be a dumb question(typical from me:D ), but is there a way to richen up my air/fuel without an afc or other gadgets. This would just be a temporary fix so I can run at the track next wed.. Is race gas going to help me any? I wan to run 18 psi with race gas and supra sidmount, am I thinking clearly, I'm kind of out of it today so slap me if I'm talking out my a$$. Thanks

Mike

Nope you need at least a FPR to raise fuel pressure to richen up.

Later,

Why do you want to richen the A/F up?? With race gas you can run leaner then on the street. Also if you have taken out the lower honey comb. Puttin it back in will richen the mixture up.

I want to richen it up because the spark plugs are telling me it is way to lean(white on the tip). I don't want to melt my pistons or anything. I will see if I still have the lower honey comb around, and give that a shot. Thanks for the replys.

lower the boost, less air mean's lower A/F ratio. That's pretty much the only way to do it, take air out. You could rewire your pump if you haven't already, that should help some.

lowering the boost will not richen it up. if it is lean there is a problem in the fuel system (assuming you are not boosting above the possible fuel system). this includes the mas.

I was thinking lowering the boost may be my only option also. My fuel pump is rewired. I'm pretty sure my fuel system is woring fine, I ran a 13.8@98 with catback, K&N, MBC, O2 dump on wed. I'm looking to get mid to low 13 this coming wed. though.

Today I ran MCCC through the engine and changed the plugs and went for a quick run, I came back pulled the plugs and found I was running lean. Hope this explains somthing. Thanks again!

Redsand, do you have a car yet?

Mike

what boost pressure are you running? did you hack your mas? If your mas is sending the correct signal (un hacked and with the honeycombs in place) and you are running lean it is a fuel problem (including the fuel maps in the ecu). These cars use air flow and match it with fuel. the ecu has maps in it that tell it how much fuel to use at a given throttle position, air flow, etc. Upping the boost will make more air flow and therefore more fuel. this is not going to cause a lean condition unless you go beyond what the fuel system can give or what the ecu is mapped for.
