The burnt tip looks cool but suggest to them to go for a stealthy stock appearing muffler. If they could pull that off, then ALOT of Cali tuners will buy it for sure. I am sure if its a duel tip it wont hurt performance by a whole lot anyways.

Now we're talkin. They don't all have to be dual tip, but if they gave the option I'd hold off on my current setup. It would also have to place the muffler more parallel to the car cause dual tips would look stupid at that angle.

Im just saying that most states are getting anal about seeing BIG canister mufflers. If you can stay away from that and not so large and obnoxious then we can get the performance and not worry about getting pulled by the police. JUST A SUGGESTION THOUGHT!!

hey mike if megan were to make a stealth exhaust it would not "look good" for the people with 15 thousand gauges in there car a data logger hanging from the wind shield, after market stearing wheels and there head hanging out the window while they make burn out movies. so i guess the stealth part is out of the question for them. i know megan would be able to make a clean and affordable one but its up to them. but you have to go through boaux(spelling) if you want any questions from MEGAN. thats basicly what i was told. not hating just mad because what they told me when i asked them a question.

There is no law against big mufflers or gauges. It's the sound/emissions that get you in trouble. Sound on DSM's is usually not an issue.

I've not seen a canister muffler that would not get you a noise ticket in NJ. Nice that the N1 has the baffle thinggie to keep things quiet when needed.

A muffler like the Dynomax Ultraflow (straight thru 6x9 oval) would be a much better compromise IMO.

On this note, I had recorded my before/after exhaust with/without the baffle on my MiniDV player. Unfortunately each clip is friggin huge 99MB for 10secs so cannot post.

Anyone know of a good way to reduce the size? I tried to create a .iso and compress using DVD Shring but failed miserably

Well, not in KY anyway. As long as it's not above a certain noise level, everything is good. Sucks for you then I guess.... Buddy.

Just because the cop says something is illegal doesn't mean it is. And just because he writes you a ticket doesn't mean that you actually broke a law. And fighting traffic tickets in court is a good idea and will usually get the ticket taken off. You can even fight it through the mail (good for tickets in other states) and if they deny your appeal you can still fight it in court as if you never contested it. For some reason the legal system goes out of its way to not let you be informed about your rights. For instance, did you know you can leave an interigation at any time? You don't have to stay there. Many cops also illegaly search people's cars with no justification. But people's ignorance of their rights allows them to continue these practices.

Ok, it's definitely gonna be the N1 style, BUT the tip isnt melon shooter size like the Apexi. I believe the Apexi N1 is 4.5", this one will most likely be 3.5" tip but not sure yet. I just need to know if you want stainless tip to match the rest of the exhaust and muffler, or titanium with the burned effect. So far I've gotten mixed answers, and because of that I'll ask them if they'll offer both, but it sure would be simpler if they could just have it one way or the other.

It will sound no different than your average, made in china muffler mated to some 3" tubing.

You can say goodbye to relating the word "cheap" to megan racing, their prices are steadily rising and recently thier catback have increased in price almost by 30%. Those of you who are interested in one better hope they get it completed soon, otherwise it's only a matter of time before they start upping the prices and reducin the quality.

I've been checking on their site a few times per week and have noticed prices going up as well. The main reason I was attracted to Megan Racing was because they offered what appeared to be a quality piece for a cheaper price. Now that they are increasing their prices, I may consider something else.

If it's burnt tip, I am definitely not buying from Megan Racing. This is getting ridiculous. I thought their main concern was "performance".

How is it getting ridiculous? It’s just an extra option, not that it will hurt performance. Is it ridiculous if Megan wants to give us what we want and not receive any more complaints on this particular product? What I think is ridiculous is the fact people have the nerve to get butt hurt on a damn thread on the internet instead of just doing what the original poster asked for. So you give +1 vote for plain tip! That’s all you have to say. As for me, even though my catback is already done I would like to see the burnt tip simply because it’s a little different then the N1.

Well, I don't like burnt tip personally. But obviously, no that won't hurt performance. I just don't think they should hold the product up over what the tip is gonna be like, if that is part of the hold up. My point was that if they are going to up the price do to the burnt tip (as one person suggested), than obviously performance is not their main concern. They are looking to charge more for styling.

That's a very valid and good point Shane! I will agree with that 100%. Although, I do think Megan wants us to get off their backs with how our exhaust systems turned out from the original design. So if they give us EXACTLY what we want then we wont be complaining anymore. Beau, just tell them to ship it already if this is the final decision to ship it. Just plain tip and send it! Its obvious a lot of tuners are going to buy it regardless of the tip. : thumb:

No, your fine man. I'm a little anal right now as well, as I have been waiting for this catback system to start modding. It's the only thing holding me up. I have $3500 sitting around I need to drop into my car.. lol.

You could get an exhaust shop to make you the same thing for around $200.

I just got the 3"DP installed and noted that it was slightly shorter overall than the one I had on but ended up tucking it more underthe car than shorten the overall length. The CatBack's exit is still ~2" to the rearmost portion of the bumper cover.

The mounting at the O2 housing was perfect and easy to do due to the small 3" to 2.5" neckdown at the O2 allowing you to actually bolt this up to 1G/2G O2 housing

The under car routing of all pipes and flanges was also very well done and kept it's distance from the Driveshaft and X-Fer case unlike my old setup (note the love it showed my DS below)

Overall I'm highly satisfied, which is saying alot since I'm I critical SOB

So, is this going to be standard for anyone who buys it? We'll have to find someone to weld in 3 more inches of pipe? Or are you talking about a different product?
