I have a Megan DP on my GST, and I'm going to cut it about 4" behind the hangers, buy a Carsound HF Cat (made by Magna Flow) from Prostreet that is CARB, OBD-II and EPA compliant, weld it in and flange it for my 3" KTeller piping kit coming soon. Then out the rear thru a Megan Racing Turbo Muffler.

I got the 1g catback on the car. Big performance boost (+dp and tp), fitment worked out ok. Lose a fair amount of ground clearance.

ok so the 3" DP from Megan is a cat eliminator also? you said nothing about a test pipe or high flow cat does the DP bolt to the catback or what. my buddy has a N/A 86.5 Supra converted Turbo he is running a Megan cat back and it sounds killer. so far so good with the DSM setup.

The downpipe will be a full-length cat eliminator. Yes it will bolt to the catback. If its the megan catback it will come with an adaptor to fit either the stock cat or fit a 3" cat or 3" downpipe.

Will it bolt right up to an Apexi N1 cat back once I remove 2.5" to 3" adaptor?

Be careful, the 2G dp will elimiate the cat, I can assure you the 1G dp does not eliminate it. I had to make a tp to fill the gap.

If that reply is for me, my post states dp + tp (dp = down pipe, tp = test pipe).

I'm really glad Megan is taking this step. Shows real dedication to their customers. I've wanted to upgrade my downpipe, cat, and cat back exhaust for awhile. Megan was affordable, but all the posts about poor fit were turning me off. The rest of the systems were just too much.

I have a 97 Talon TSi AWD Turbo. Does anyone know for certain which Eclipse is the same as far as exhaust systems go? I ask because every Megan system I have looked at only lists Eclipse fitment. I can't wait for this new system, but I don't want to get one and then find out that the fit is different between Talons and Eclipses.

Also, will they have a downpipe that does not eliminate the cat? I don't have any welding skill at all, so I'll need something that is completely bolt on. This is my daily driver, so I don't want to eliminate the cat.

Thanks in advance.

They wont make one, but its cheap to have a muffler shop weld a cat on for you. If you aready had the cat, it should be 50 bucks or so to have the downpipe and cat flanged so you can have the cat on there, or take it off and run cat-less if you choose.

That's because it's not a full 3" DP like the new AWD DP.
The first bend all the way thru the Flex section is 2.5", then it opens up the 3" after the Flex.
Then it necks down to 2.75" roughly at where the Cat outlet would be.
It eliminates the Cat by the way....

Sorry. I am talking about the "catback", not the DP. They already sell that on ebay. I already have that Megan cat eliminating downpipe. I'm talking about the piping at the end of the DP to the end of the muffler....the catback!!! The same thing in that link, but not Apexi....I want a MEGAN one!! Even if it has to start at 2.75" then become 3" so it can bolt on to their 2g gst 3" dp!!!!

Just wondering, I think the are but want to make sure...

are the 1G and 2G GST down pipes the same? besides overall length that is.

From what I have seen, after the mid point in the tunnel is where they change, but up to that point they look the same.

Im not sure if I'm supposed to tell anyone, but I think its ok. Ive been working with Megan for the past week or so on the turbo manifold, its stainless steel tubular. The first prototype they made seemed very well made, but it had a little clearance problem with one of the runners. So theyre fixing that right now and theyre gonna give it to me after they finish changing it to test fit it again. Of course when I get it on, i Ill take pics and tell you guys how it is.

Sexy.

I was about to contact them about this a few weeks ago to see if they were going to make one. Could you also ask if they have any plans on making an o2 sensor housing as well?

I can't wait till my friend's shop starts carrying megan racing products, it's great being best friends with the boss Gotta love the hook ups!

BTW: I was lookin the evo forums and saw that their exhaust for the evo is a strait flow even though they had to throw in that extra bend. What these people aren't realizing is the fact that the exhaust gasses get cool enough from expansion towards the end of the exhaust that one minimal bend isn't going to affect performance.

You should convince them to straiten it out a bit
