I don't have any beef with them. They are working hard to correct their mistakes. but one question remains un-asked. How did they not catch these 2g GSX issues before production? and why have they not been taken off the market?

for those that do not like the angle, well go ahead and spend twice the amount on something that is still slanted, but not as bad, and has more flow restrictions...

Good god, this company is doing something FOR YOU. They are tring to FIX THIER DESIGN.
You do not like the angle, fine do not buy it, but do not bitch about it either if your not going to buy it.

Hell I had to make my exhaust by hand for my 1G because I do not like the straight out mufflers... so yes I made mine with a nice slant to it. *insert rasberry smiley*

I like how it has an adapter to fit on your stock cat without having to cut anything and weld a bigger flange if yougo bigger or back to stock. I would like to hear some sound clips when possible

Actually they seem to have a 1G catback now (it wasn't there 2 months ago).

they have a downpipe too, but the flex section looks like crap from the pics of em ive seen. and that catback looks like its gonna wanna angle way out the corner of the back bumper at a super goofy angle.

Personally I dont care what it looks like, i just need the 20+ horsepower the downpipe and catback will give me on my RallyX car. For less than $500 for both it seems a good deal.

Personally, I do kinda like the angle, looks mean and performance oriented. But that sort of thing is just a personal preference, so you won't be able to please everyone with the angle. However, I understand why they have such an angle, and I can appreciate that. I am looking past the looks (which is a ricey thing) and looking at the performance benefit of the angle. There is only one slight bend on this 3" exhaust! That is a great performance benefit in the reduction of exhaust backpressure.

Oh, and a comment about the coilover setup. Please suggest that they make the coilovers either rebound and dampening separate adjustable, or just rebound adjustable. almost no one does this. But there is a real performance benefit in the rebound, and some people want to try to achieve that benefit without having to have the bound to hard. Just look at the Evo MR as an example. It clearly handles better with the lower bound, but higher rebound of the Bilsteins. Why? The rebound offers stability, while the softer bound soaks up the bumps that would upset a harder bound. Just a suggestion that would separate them form the other myriad of coilover products out there, and would probably help to convince people who are very picky (like myself) about their parts to by the Megan coilover.

Still waiting on word from them about the 1G GSX system; there's nothing up on their site about the cat-back section, and I haven't been called about doing a test fitment yet.

So most likely that ad is for a Megan DP and some other cat-back, or just a misrepresented ad, calling it a 'Megan Racing' exhaust.

I was going to get one of the 1G catbacks, but you make me pause. Do you work with them on test fitting?

Yes, I'm their SoCal 1G-GSX test car. Buddy of mine is their 1G-GST test car.

Just got information back... apparently their catback system does exist for the GSX, so it may not be a mislabelled ad. Waiting to hear back if it's been put on final fitment or if it's still an under-development thing... apparently Steve just hasn't added it to their website.
Oh, and the main Megan guy can't post here himself because he's been made a Rookie member.

Apparently Megan's been catching a bit of hate for the angle of the muffler, instead of straight back on the GS-T... dunno about the GSX one. More as the situation develops.

do all there 1g downpipes have the crappy looking SS flex section?
http://cgi.ebay.com/MEGAN-89-94-ECLI...QQcmdZViewItem

im not big on the look of that flex section, looks like it would easily break compared to some of the beefier ones. My friend has what i THOUGHT was a megan 1g downpipe but his flex is nicer lookin.

Where can I get their 2g eclipse gst catback!? And not the 2.5" one that is also for the gs/rs. A 3" n1 catback to compliment the 3" downpipe megan already offers us on ebay.

Thanks!

i am looking forward to the 1g exhaust sometimes i feel we are forgeten compare to the 2g's if the 1g exhaust is for sale can you post a link please. i like how megan whent thru the effort of test fitting cars. i wish megan made a coilover kit shorten stocks and struts for the 1g.

1g has become popluar since the evo appeared and scc did a article on one. and as for the angle i don't mind it keeps megan production cost low i am down for that.

I remember someone installing a thermal cat back on a 2g non turbo ( w/turbo ) that was made for an awd. it worked and they didnt complain about the install, then again maybe its just the thermal awd version happened to fit.

I just picked up the 1G Megan CatBack (so it does exist). It is a Megan Racing piece, it's in the Megan Racing box, and engraved. We'll see if it fits tomorrow, if I can get the old rusted stocker off!

Ok, so be thankful you were not the test fit car, because the fit is pretty crap IMO. It moves around a lot, they have one less spot for the rubber hangers, and the rear hits the rear diff. .

That and I thought the Megan DP eliminated the cat, so all in all I have some work yet to do !

I'll get some pics ups, after my 2hr drive to go get the test pipe.....

Nothing is ever easy on a DSM!

But mine is just like the pictures, and when i laid everything out it was obvious that piece was missing.
