damn my car was running so good.. & all of a sudden i put it in storage & now all i have is problems..

ok heres the problems..

the seal on my oil cap is fukd. oil is all over my valve cover.. i was desperate for a fix today & went to lordco & paid 15 for a new oil cap.

well after comming out of lordco .. tried to start my car & it started and went "rattatatata blat DEAD!".. car wouldent even idle.. the engine would go on for 3 sec then shut off.. i figure some oil dripped into my sparkplug holes.. so i pull the spark plug wires out & used a rag & a screwdriver to try to soak up all the oil in the 4 sparkplug holes..
after doing so .. car started fine.. drove to my moms house, turned the engine off & on again.. same problem.. i pull out all the plug again & tried cleaned the holes & wires up .. its spotless.. no water, oil or anything.. start the car up fine .. ripped it around the block.. turned the engine off & on.. same shit..(studder dead) i had to do this 4 times..
but i manage to kinda get it to start & drive back home.. car runs great.. no power loss..

i went to lordco bought new sparkplug well seals, valve cover seal, oilfilter, oil

so today i changed the plugwells on my car, gave it an oilchange, changed the oil filter, flushed the coolent.

started it the badboy up.. idled for 5 mins, shut the car off.. started it again ...studder.. dead!!
so far ive changed..

valve seal
sparkplug well seal
sparkplugs
sparkplug wires
oil
oil filter
oil cap
and flushed the coolent

ok im starting to think its something else.. but what?

btw my car is a 2g eclipse spyder fwd turbo
any help would be apreciated.. thankyou

i had ther block replaced in my car but no the car seems like it dont have has much power and when you give it full throttle it hardly goes and it was making some wierd sound from the pulley side of the motor. if u might know what this coculd be please let me know :dsm:

my car was in storage for 6 months. hooked up a data logger & its my camshaft position sensor.. I unbolted the 1 bolt holding it on & pulled the sensor off.. the sensor was covered in oil.. i cleaned the oil off & hooked it back.. problem was gone for 24 hrs .. but now its back.. i ordered a new sensor from mitsubishi .. ill be here in 2 days.. hope fully thats the problem..

anyone ever had this problem?? ive notice when the car is in motion at 4000rpm on all gears, the engine seems to be lagging.. feels like not enough fuel or something.. my fuelpump is tock & hasent been rewired.... not really sure the symtoms of a bad camshaft position sensor..

thanks for all the info sofar..

btw: i checked all plugs & they were all fine ..

all im having is problems with this car..

opened up my camshaft angle sensor today & i it was filled with oil.. cleaned it out & took the car for a rip.. everything seems fine now but when im driving the car.. as soon as the turbo kicks in ..i can hear the turbo spool up but the car feels like its pulling .. is there a possible boost leak somewhere?? or is my turbo/car fukd?

is this still safe to drive?? I need to get some time in a shop to get a complete engine lookover..

How long was it in storage? And did you leave a bunch of fuel in the tank and lines?

if the answer to this is long time, and yes, you might have really bad fuel system problems. varnish-like deposits, there could be a LOT of water in the fuel tank; gas is lighter than water, and when left to sit a long time, especially in the winter, water will form in the fuel tank and sink to the bottom. so when the car starts, it gets a lot of water, and as it moves, the water mixes with the fuel. then, when the motor gets hot, the water evaporates, this is what is know as vapor lock. happens a lot on cis cars. if there is a drain plug on the bottom of the fuel tank, get a glass jar, and drain about a quart. let it sit, and in a few minutes, you will be able to see if there is water and fuel. another way would be to tap into the return fuel line, and fill up the jar that way. a couple of bottles of dri gas, or heet(make sure it is 99% isopropyl alcohol) in the tank might be able to save it. since it does run, there probably isnt a lot of water in there.

I'd check/replace the fuel filter. If there was any type of garbage in the tank, it may have clogged it up.

:toobad: Maybe it is the filter, maybe the CAS, I'd take it to a dealership to be sure. $80.00 in a dianostic can save you money later. Fix the right part the first time.
