Okay so I just got my new motor in and this was my first time swapping in a dsm. Okay so Im sure it still needs to be timed, but im not sure if timing is the problem im having here. So the battery is not charging while driving. I think that is because a ground is not hooked up right. It would not be completing the circuit right. And also starting today it will hesitate when you give it gas and then when it finally revs it dies, and im not venting into the atmosphere. Would could this problem be!!! Any help would be great. Thanks

If it dies when you rev wouldn't that be a clogged fuel filter?

When my alternator went bad, the car ran like you said for a little bit until the battery went completely dead.

You can do a simple voltage test at home before you go buying new batteries and alternators.

If you don't know how to do it, just get you volt meter and place accordingly on the battery. i.e. + with + and - with -. You should be between 12-15volts.

And to test to see if your alternator is putting out do the same as above, but turn the car on. Your volts should jump to about 13-15 volts.

I remember from my swap that I had four (4) common grounds to get my car going good.

I hope for your sake that the timing is correct. You shouldn't be second guessing your timing. If you think it is off, check it and make sure. Are you sitting at idle when you rev? Did you upgrade your fuel pump? What about injectors or any of that sort?
