I have a turbo laser and i'm having major problems with it. It will not start when i turn the key and when i turn the key off the starter makes a noise but it will not turn over the car. the battery is good. any help will be appreciated

Does it just make a clicking noise? If you take off the upper I/C pipe you should be able to get to the starter. I would have someone try to start it while you tap the starter with a small hammer if you have not already tried this.

For a while I carried a 18" long rod that I used to tap and bang the starter when it stuck. It worked until I got a rebuilt unit.

this is a brand new starter that i put in the car. with the old starter it just clicked, and with the new starter it still does the same thing. I'm stumped

Make sure your motor is not locked up. Also is this a new mitsu starter or a reman one from a parts store? If it is a reman one I have had so many problems with reman parts I will not even put a reman starter on. I would have a local place rebuild one or buy a brand new one.

:dsm: i agree with everyone else..it might also be the battery terminals, or check that the ground wire is good running off the battery to the firewall..both have happened to me..

i replaced both terminals with new ones, and yes, the starter is an autoparts one. I can push start the car of course but nothing when i try to turn it over with the key. I'm thinking it might be a wire or something shorting out? i'm not sure. all i know is that this is crazy frustrating

Get a jumper wire and connect it to the positive post on your battery. Then take the 1 pin connector off of the starter solenoid. Next tap the jumper wire up against this pin on the solenoid and see if it cranks. If it does the starter is ok. And then you can rule out the starter
