Ok. I have a 1997 Tsi Talon and was having some issues with it. I took it to my shop and they told me I had a bad injector. A buddy of mine had a set of 450's, or so he told me. They have blue tops. Anyway, he told me they were the ones that were on the car already. I took them down to the shop and told them to use one to replace the bad one. They called me today and said that they are definately not the same as the stock ones that are on the car. They said that the stock ones have black tops and dual nozzle tips, while the blues have a single nozzle. So, what is the deal? Will the blues work in the car w/o any other mods? What is the difference between the two cc and nozzle wise? Also, one of the blue injectors has a crack in the black plastic cover over the nozzle tip, its split all the way down. I also assumed this one is not going to be any good anymore. Correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't use cracked injectors.

Both injectors are 450's if they are from DSMs. 1G 450's are blue, 2G 450's are black.

Thanks to Psychlow for the info. Does anyone else have any input on wether mixing dual nozzle injectors with single nozzle with have any adverse effects on A/F? I have an A/F guage on the car, dunno how much help it will be in determining the effect on one cylinder. Basically, I have only 3 good injectors of each type, so unless I can pick up one of either kind, my only other option is to combine. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Also, if someone is familiar with the 1g 450's, I have a 4th, but there is a small black plastic peice that covers the nozzle. The reason I only have 3 blue ones is because this peice is cracked on the fourth. It seems like it would be ok to use...the plastic is flimsy anyway. If someone knows what I am talking about and has some input that would be great. I could get a pic of it if necessary as well...let me know.
Thanks :talon:
