I have a 97 gst that has an Apex'i twin chamber BOV that the previous owner installed. After reading all the BOV related threads in the archives, I'm convinced this is the source of my car's stalling and rich running problems. I want to replace it with a different BOV that will allow me to route the expelled air back to the intake so the car will idle smoothly, and perform like it should. As it is currently set up, it's compromising performance and driveability for a swoosh sound. I would rather have the car perform flawlessly and couldn't care less about a swooshy noise. The car has a custom upper intake pipe that has the Apex type flange. The Apex'i BOV has no provision to recirculate the vented air, it vents only to the atmosphere. At this point, I'm wanting to change it out.

Questions:

1. Is there a BOV that I could use to recilculate the air that will use the Apex type flange?

2. If not, can I get an adapter somewhere that would allow me to run a different BOV?

3. What is the best BOV to run for this situation? Would a factory 1g BOV work well for me?

The 2g 4g63 setup is stock with the following modifications:

custom UICP (not sure of brand), K&N filter, 3" turbo back system with h-flow cat, Tanabe muffler

Your going to have to cut the flange off and get a flange for the bov you want and have it welded on .The 1st gen bov is always a good choice so is the greddy type s those are my 2 personl choices :talon:

Yea your most likely gonna have to cut off the flange. Im sure the flange u have now is for that BOV. As for the other Bov the 1g and the greddy type s recirculate. Also if you wanted HKS makes a kit to reci. their BOV......IMO i'd go with the greddy type s. The 1g is perfect if u wanted to save money. The 1g is a great BOV......Also you would have to buy the flange to weld it back as mentioned. I myself have a greddy type s and very happy with it,(except the adjust thing, but no big deal).....

i had the GReddy type-s b4 i switched to the HKS ssqv.. i loved it... i also had it for the high pitched release though  ... i kept mine vented to the atompshere and i bought a safc to accomidate from the stalling out as my car used to..

hahahahaha I laughed so hard at that belt, I decided to buy it.

once it arrived at my humble abode, i peed on it. :D

wow... the Scary thing is someone will believe that and buy that belt and install it. Shortly their after it will break. But that is funny as hell.

you could also go with a blow through setup which means you buy a new uicp/gm maf/maft this will let you vent how you are and fix your running rich problem check it out!

Cut your flange off and buy a GReddy type-S and a GReddy flange from SBR and weld it on and go. Free shipping.... :)
