FP is having a big sale on their custom 18g turbos, they look nice

Ported, clipped, 18g with evo housing and 34mm flapper, for like $730 or so...

anyone have experience with these?

Seems like they could flow even more then a evo3 16g(bigger compressor wheel, clipped exhuast wheel) and i think the 18g housing is bigger

Seems like it could be good for 400whp if tuned right

has anyone had one before or has one?

Isn't the 18G more or less the same as the turbo Greddy offers for our cars? If so I believe it isn't much better than an EVOIII 16G.

GReddy takes 18G's and modifies them for use in several of their kits. But that doesn't mean they are the same. Its just another rung on the ladder between 16G and 20G. I don't think there's any signifcant difference between it, the evo3 and a TD05H-20G. somebody with a lot of time on their hands, a dyno and laboratory contorlled conditions could probably prove one better then the other, but out in the real world I don't think the typical person would notice a much but of course thats relative to each person. I'd just go with the cheaper of the two. If you want something significantly better - I think your going to have to do something outside the entire TD05H family all together. Whether thats Garret, Mitsubishi or hybrid - it doesn't matter, but there are plenty of options.

Most people don't go with the 18G because of the success of the EVO III 16g and the 20g line. It would most likely work out better for you to get one of those turbos. If you want the 18G, go for it.

ive checked into different sites and looks at flow charts and did a bit of research a while ago on the 18g. Good solid turbo. It will flow more than a 16g but suffers from a bit more lag. Wont flow quite as much as a 20g though. I know I plan on getting this from FP soon as my 16g dies cause I wanted something inbetween the 16g and 20g. Plus, I can reuse my bullseye turbine housing and get it for cheaper.

Lag is almost unmeasurable between 16,18 and 20G. My friend Paul had an 18G years ago when the 16G was king of the land. He ran 12.2 @ 118 ...no logger only AFC and the must have gauges. I like this turbo a lot. It has so much potential.

I'm also picking one up from FP. I had one before, clipped 15deg. - it was a bad-ass setup.

My close friend, ran a 12.1 at 18 psi on an 18G/VPC setup - could've used some more tuning as well. Turbo definately has some serious potential. Good choice.
