If someone could do me a huge favor, it would be greatly appreciated. my 97 GS-T has a wire hanging after a belt broke, and I cannot find anywhere it goes. Since then the low voltage light comes on...

It is a yellow wire with an orange stripe, it comes out of the harness leading to the alternator, and I think it might belong to the bolt on the left hand side of the alternator(with the bright orange cover on it). If someone could look around and see where this wire should be connected, I would deeply appreciate it.

Wow, a simple yes the wire goes there, or no the wire doesn't would have been fine.
how bout you go and look for the other end of the wire.
- because its in a harness, which I do not want to tear apart. I have little electrical knowledge, and considering the harm it can do to a vehicle, I thought I might ask the helpful people on this site.
But thanks for the answer, ****.

STOP.

At least on the 1G -

There are 3 yellow wires that come from that harness. One goes to the plug-type connector on the alternator, the other two go to switches on the power steering pump and the oil cooler.

If the wire is .5mm diameter, it is one of the two wires that go onto either the P/S pump or the oil cooler, as the oil pressure switch or power steering pressure switch.

If it is 2.0mm diameter, it goes to the plug on the alternator (NOT THE STUD). There should only be two wires on the alternator stud, both white 5mm in diameter.

Unfortunately, I am not positive about the 2G wiring. My suggestion would be to obtain an electrical circuit diagram for your car.

Thanks, I'm not getting any oil pressure either so maybe its connected. Any idea where I can get a electrical diagram?

I also noticed underneat that there is no wire connected to the bell shapped peice on my oil filter housing on the backside of it. I believe this is where the wire goes (in the middle of the bell shapped piece). If someone could confirm that I would appreciate it. Thanks.

i had a belt brake on me and it also broke my pressure sensor for my oil. i just bought a new connector and replaced the old with the new. also buying a Chiltons wouldn't hurt.
