Princeton,
with hard pipes could I run a big 28 on the street and auto -x it using the stock side mount. and if not what psi could I use the stock sidemount to like 18-20 psi on race and 14-16 on the pump., if I cleaned it out real nice.

The '95s can benefit greatly from porting out the hole in front of the stock SMIC and also behind it. You can cut out part of the wheel well cover behind the intercooler and use a wire mesh to keep rock from flinging off of the tire onto it. I just replaced the whole wheel well cover on the front side with a fine chicken-wire.
On the front side, you can use a dremel or other rotary tool to cut out the inlet hole to match the size of the plastic shroud that directs air to the intercooler. Just stick your hand in there to find where the shroud is and BE CAREFUL. If you accidentaly touch the bumper elsewhere, that rotary will take the paint right off and leave a big yellow streak. If you do it right, though, no one will ever know you did it.

With both 14b and 16g I ran 18 psi street and 25 psi on race gas on the stock SMIC and injectors. The 16g was cutting it close on pump gas though at 18 psi ;) I now have the Supra SMIC and its not much better... 3 mph gain on pump gas, none on race gas. As I go to larger turbos, its gets more and more useless, as one would expect.

The stock sidemount can still get decent quarter mile times if you give it adequate time to cool off between runs but on the street it will heatsoak fast and you will start knocking.

You could try setting up an intercooler sprayer using your windshield washer fluid and spraying it down to cool during or inbetween runs.

majke sure its windshield washer fluid with 50-50 water and alcohol. not the stuff with ammonia in it.
