HELP!!!!! Cyclone vs.US domestic :dsm: :dsm: :dsm:
Which would be better? the cyclone, the one on my car now or an aftermarket Venom intake?

Cyclone is better then venom its over priced crap ......look in the dsm pics and you wont see one under there hood ......good sign. and i have had this discussion with a few other people and i know someone with one on there car and he hates it.

Err.. Cyclone is better than Venom sheetmetal intake manifold? You must be out of your mind.

im not out of my mind ask around and your 1g turbo intake manifold is better then the venom ........ for all the work you have to do to fabricat it to fit on right the hp gain is very low

Do some research before posting. I wont try to convince you what you believe in, when you are putting enough HP to the wheels, you will understand how the sheetmetal intake will help.

However, if you are not pushing enough air to outflow your stock intake, the sheetmetal intake is not for you.

i know most sheet metal intakes are great but venom intake is crap thats all im saying there are others out ther worth looking into that flow better and are constructed better.

It may not flow as good as some others out there but the original question was comparing with a cyclone intake. The cyclone intake does not even perform better than the stock 1G. Saying cyclone intake and stock 1G intake is better than Venom intake is plain wrong.

venoms flow not much more then them......even tho they should the only way they can flow better is porting intake into the engine block and make better flow but a guy i know had one on his car and went and tested it on the dyno and didnt see much improvement not for 600 bucks!! Why do you own a Venom? or a Cyclone ? or have stock in there company?

No, I dont own venom, one of my friend does and he is making 350whp running only 15psi on pump gas. At 30psi, he is making close to 540whp. Do you even have evidence it does not flow much more then stock? If yes, what are the flow values?
I dont own a cyclone either because that does not flow any better than stock. If you want to see some flow numbers, check out:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11466

Enough said, what works and what not, you decide.

Stock head with a 4” tapered runner sheet metal intake and a 240 cubic inch plenum <~~~~ where in there does it say Venom ???
Look at the bottom of the page where it shows the intake you dont see him useing a crap venom do you?

When did I post the link saying the flow numbers for venom? The link is for flow values on stock and cyclone intake comparison.

Like I said, the original question is comparing cyclone, stock or venom intake. Saying what you said is wrong. Period. Blah, I wont even argue with you anymore. Believe what you want to believe.

you know what who cares sheet metal intakes are good, there are crap ones other there thats the point im makeing. the cyclone take 100 bucks and bore out the damm thing and save 500 bucks and then its better.
I dont think the person who posted the question realizes how much the sheet metal intakes go for there for trying to save that person money. for not that much in hp gains on a NON turbo car.

It seems that you have changed the topic of this thread, to fit you're meaning. *you still are wrong* this was about the usdm intake and the cyclone. Its common knowledge that in high boost high flow situations the cyclone becomes an intake restriction. JW has much more experience than you. its not a point of opinion it simple facts. Please don't spew bad information, because you read 500 post. on you favorite rice message board. about how JDM parts rock:rolleyes: . the venom is a very good, and cost effective sheet metal intake.

you know what who cares sheet metal intakes are good, there are crap ones other there thats the point im makeing.

NO the point that you attempted to make (and fail miserably) is that the venom intake *in specific* sucked which is false, and based on you're opinion with ZERO-first hand experience.

either way venmon makes crap i've porsonaly seen it and have seen friends buy there crap and get burned and get stuck with the bill and you know what i gave my thoughts on the intake manifiolds and any other sheet metal intake is better then the venom.

jsut check out the thread on how well a head flows with a cyclone intake and a usdm intake...cyclone flowed worse to i'm sure all the jdm lovers dismay. I don't know for a fact, but I have heard that the new venom intakes are alot better than the older models. A friend had one and it wasn't a true bolt on, but he was making some good power.
