I posted something similiar to this a while back but I think I worded it wrong because I didnt get the answer I was looking for. After doing the aligning procedure for a 6 bolt, how do you confirm that it is indeed aligned? Or do you just hope for the best?

You can check the thrust alighnment by looking at the 2 bearings at the parting line on the outside were they hit the crank they should be perfectly paralell each other. You can use a feeler gauge to see if you hit the parting line. If you do you need to alighn it again.

I'm taking it that is what you did, do you got that engine running yet?

No im still waiting to get the head back this weekend. I just noticed this while I was doing my motor is the reson I replyed to your question. You will see what I mean. It F###kin sucks knowing you have a bad ass motor waiting to get put in. I enjoy the work but I would rather be banging gears. :D

I can see where your talking about, I can see where it almost looks misaligned but I cant hit anything.

Hey thanks man for the info, worked good. I only had to pull the thrust once, I hate doing that because I always seem to put little indentations in the thrust face, I guess my ham fisted ogre ways are to tough.
