ok so i have a 97 GS-T, and this problem seems to be getting worse. if i start jumping all over the place, just please deal with me. my air/fuel guage keeps telling me that my car is running really rich, and my boost guage is now saying 10psi instead of the stock 14-15 psi from the T-25. my accelerating has now gone down really bad, kind of feels like it doesn't want to move, and stalls a little before switch gears (auto). is this a fuel problem, or maybe my turbo is going out. i have no idea and am completly lost in the matter. please help me out.
Anthony

1. air/fuel gauges are just a bunch of blinking lights. Don't trust it

2. sounds like a vacum or boost leak.

so if its a boost leak, that'll make it not really want to move????? i have a greddy 3 piece ICP and blitz BOV, both on for about a year, could something there be leaking??

since u have a blitz bov, which by the way is the best sounding bov EVER, u r venting and that alone makes the car run like pooh. But yeah u definitely have a boost leak....is there black smoke out the exhaust when u get on it?

yes there is deff. alot of black smoke when i rev it. i've been venting to bov for about a year and don't feel anything wrong, that wouldn't cause a boost leak. where are the common spots to look for the leak, i'm going to do it in the morning

u need to do a boost leak test with a compressor. But if u wanna just go over evrything to try to fix it, just tighten every clamp dat is intercooler-related and make sure ur bov is tight. U should check ur throttle body elbow as well and check ur turbo outlet.

ok so i did the leak test, and i had a ripped clamp that holds the upper ICP to the throotl body elbow. i replaced it, the car sounded real good. i went to take it around the block, and then it got bad again. i made it the end of my block and felt a kick. then i couldn't get any boost at all, and i couldn't get over like 5-10 MPH. whats wrong now. did my turbo just go :(

This same thing happened to me once. My A/F gauge ran rich, I couldn't go fast, I got poor gas mileage and such. My problem was that one of my pipes blew off of my side mount intrcooler and all kinds of air was getting in through there. I can't remember if it was the UICP or the LICP, but it was one of them. You might want to check those. Just an idea.

Same thing happen to me, hose calmp broke and the hose opened up and let the air out. Clamped it back up and it ran like a champ.

in the morning i'm gonna double check all the clamps and make sure everything is tight. i replaced my spark plugs too, b/c since it was running so rich they turned black. the car a little better after i did that. anyway someone looked at my car and said that they don't think it's a turbo problem, but a fuel problem. thanks for all the help so far, if anymore ideas please post, otherwise i'll write tomorrow and let you all know what happened

do a boost leak test again. That should ALWAYS be the first thing done whenever there's a problem like this with your car. It's very simple to do and its always nice to find those damn leaks right away.

ok so i replaced that boot yesterday, ended up that the lower icp blew off after that, so that was an easy fix. i'm gonig to change both my O2 sen. just for maintenance. when i took it out for a run, the car ran harder than it normaly did. instead of 15 psi, it was at like 17-18, and then back to 15-16. should i just install my greddt boostcontroller to fix this or is it something else???

It's called boost creep, I have it and installing a MBC didn't help me at all, but it might you.

well i never had it before, and don't know hwy it just happened. but now found another problem. i was driving it around seeing if everything was working, and when i stopped and put the car in park, it would idle between 1500-200 rpm's and then drop to 1000, and then go back up and down, over and over again. whats wrong with it now. do i need a new idle contol mod
