I'm looking at one big whoppin purchase and install:

-EvoIII turbo.
-Ported 2g ex manni
-Ported o2 housing.

1. What (if any) grinding is necessary to fit the 2g ex manni onto my engine?

2. Does the ported 2g ex manni bolt to the evoIII top w/o a problem?

3. What ported o2 housing would I want to use to mate my stock dp (sorry) to the evo turbo? evo, 1g, 2g?

Thanks for the quick input.

1. you might have to grind down 1 small corner

2. Yes

3. 2g would bolt right up where you might have to do some tweaking with the Evo3

So I will get the the ported 2g ex manni, bolted to the EvoIII turbo, bolted to the ported 2g o2 housing, bolted to my stock dp. Where does my o2 sensor go? The 1g is "tapped' for it, the 2g goes somewhere later in the exhaust if I remember right.

There will be a place to mount the 02 sensor exactly like on your 1g 02 housing, like you said it is just lower on the evo 02 housing. Good luck

Awesome, advice from a "local". It is nice to see someone from my area. Thanks for the info. If all goes well, I'll be getting a brand new evoIII, a ported 2g ex manni (still looking), and a 2g ported o2 housing...that is if everything goes well.

Thanks.
Jeff

I did the same setup except i used the EVO mnifold and it fit with no grinding. If grinding was needed it would be simple. You will need 550cc injectors. mark

So, you are saying that if I get the evo manni it will bolt right up with zero hassle, then it will bolt (obviously) right up to the evo turbo, which bolts right up to a 2g o2 housing, which bolts right up to my stock dp?

A ported evo manni? Or does it matter?

I bought all 3 EVO components from Buschur, all ported. EVO manifold, EVO turbo aand EVO 02 housing. All bolt together. Remove the radiator as it makes the job so much easier and you need to drain the oil and coolant anyways. The fans come out attached to the radiator. Simple.

Did/do you have the stock dp?

I'm kinda running out of money. For now can I bolt the evoiii turbo to a stock o2 housing?

I dont know what it is that people say to grind down on the 2g Evo mani, but when i installed mine, it was fine. No grinding off of anything.

Occasionally the power steering mounting bracket can hit the upper right corner of the manifold. @ minutes on a bench grinder or even a file will be the ix if it is even needed. My EVO III fit just fine. Mark

Would you trust a brand new turbo from
turbochargers.com or
teamxmotorsports.com?

They are both listing their evoiii turbos on ebay which kinda discredits them in my eyes.

I have found a used evo mani and a new and used o2 housing, but depending on the turbo and manifold, I may just bolt it up to my current 1g o2 which is bad I know.

From what I understand, if your looking at a Evo III they come directly assembled from mitsubishi regardless of where you buy them from. If I'm wrong I'm sure there is someone that will correct me :)

Is your complete exhaust stock, or just the downpipe?
No, not really. I have a 2.5" test pipe, then a "cat back" of sorts ending with a mangaflow muffler. And no, I'm not to proud of the order I am buying stuff seeing as I will be choking my exhaust from the dp down.

You always want a warranty if you can get one of course. From what I've seen a lot of companies will put a year warranty on the Evo III turbos. Do I think paying a extra $100 or so is worth it to get a warranty IMO yes. I know someone who bought a evo III 16g and it took a crap on him within the first couple months he had it. I don't think this is a norm, (to have the turbo go bad) but it could happen.

Okay so no I'm being told 2 different things by DSS and Buschur.

DSS says that I can bolt the evo mani to my engine, bolt that to the evo turbo, and bolt that to an evo o2 BUT they say I can't bold an Evo o2 to a stock 1g dp. They say I would need to get a 2g o2 and port the hell out of it to mate it to my 1g dp.

Buschur says I can use all 3 evo parts and mate it to my 1g dp.

What do I do? When I get these parts, I can't not be able to do this. (whine session here) but this is my daily driver, I can have it on jackstands for a weekend maybe a little more, but if this doesn't go like clockwork(assuming no bolts break...) I'm in deep shit.

hello,
I am the owner of TEAM-X MOTORSPORTS i just want to let you know we are a very crediable company. we been in buisness for over 2 years with no complaints .we list on ebay just for advertising it is very tuff to get the amount of hits on the web like we get from ebay. which is why we dont list lots of things just enough to get our name out ther. this is a very tough buisness to break into i just want to let everyone know that everything we sell comes with a warranty. we dont sell seconds or junk parts we are a full speed shop not just a website. if you feel shady about buying parts online give me a call at 401-356-4233 or if you live nearby stop in .i have many very happy customers that keep coming back to me and will glady relay this information .well i dont want to take up to much room on this forum if you have any questions just drop us a line :dsm: :thumb:

I'd listen to Buschur, personally. He knows a bit about DSM's.

I got all 3 pieces from Buschur and had them port all 3. That's the way to go. mark
