Hey I have a 1991 Laser RS and I'm wondering if the 4g63t will fit in it. (Isn't that the engine already in it?!) My friend who I bought it from says it will, "it bolts right in there" If this question is already out there, srry my bad. Second question is if there is someone in the oklahoma city/Moore area who could help me install an engine like that, because I don't know how and I don't think my uncle and his racing buddies are going to know how, not that they wouldn't want to help. If the 4G63T does fit then I guess my next question is where do I get the ECU for it? What all do I need to put this motor in my car? I'll have a loan for 2500 to fix the car and I was just going to put the stock motor back in it (a remanufactured one) but the possiblity of having a faster car just keeps eating at me...

Hes got a laser rs which has the 4g63 non-turbo motor in it i believe. Atleast i think thats what hes saying. As for the 4g63t just bolting right in i'm not sure about that. They are the same motors pretty much just different cams and intake manifold and the turbo. So theoretically it should fit, but the mounts might not be the same .

Look at his profile. Laser RS Turbo. Thats a 4G63T turbo motor already.

I didn't look at his profile before i replied. Thought never really crossed my mind because a friend of mine has a laser rs which has the 4g63 in it but its non-turbo, i didn't realize that he had the rs-t.

the kid never replied to me maybe he was BS and didn't want to be called out. i am not for sure just speculating. from what i was informed is from to different people. the non-turbo is called 4G64 and turbo is called 4G63 then another told me same on both. also installation is not that hard but wiring everything is a mutha. with a lift and all the right tools install of motor and everything can take half a day labor hours. but wiring can take up to half to a day and half labor hours.

Yeah, I didn't listen to my friend who was trying to tell me what was what, and it WAS a Laser RS turbo, but his grandpa put the N/T motor in it but left the 4g63t tranny in it. I JUST re-read my post, and I'm not BSing. I just really know jack sh** about DSM and engines in general. Plus, like TWO minutes after I posted that, I realized, "Oh crap, what a dumb post!" I wasn't thinking what I was typing... sorry now I know better! I haven't been back to this thread since I seen the first response, so sorry if I pissed anyone off
