I have a '93 AWD Talon. Superbly well kept and with 103k miles on the clock. I have added EVO exhaust, 02 housing and turbo, all ported. GM MAF-Traslator as a blow thru with a dejon upper pipe. 550cc injectors. Here's the question I want taken seriously. When I changed the EVO
I found the exhaust was a pieced together junk, sections of junk. I have ordered a 2.5 ss mandrel bent exhaust.
How will this exhast effect performance/spooling, etc.
You know how items are touted to add xx amount of power.
OH, the current exhaust has a 2" downpipe!!!
I also want a quiet muffler that flows better than stock, suggestions. Serious responses please. Mark
 
The exhaust should help you spool up quicker...but not as much as if you replaced the stock DP and stock catalytic converter. Those are two huge bottlenecks.

As for WHP, that's dependant on the amt of boost you see after installing the parts. It should give you a decent kick in the pants as compared to what you have now.
 
That's just it GSX. I don't even have a stock downpipe. It's just a 90 degree bend 2" in diameter. The exhaust consists of 2 sections of flex pipe, some straight pipe under the main part of the car and I do not and will not have a convertor. NO DOWNPIPE! just a 2" D 90 degree bend. Could be a gas tank filler neck with a flange welded to it. I expected te EVO to do more tan it does and it is fairly tuned with a wideband A/F meter. Will a true downpie add HP I can feel? 2.5in will be enough for the turbo you have, 3in would be best if you plan on upgrading. Yes it will make a difference, with your mods a turbo back will make a BIG difference. The stock system is around 2.25 I think so yes I say get the exhaust.

Andrew the exhaust is ordered! IT just sems likem the car should be more powerful but with addictions tolerance builds!
