Hey guys, so can I port out an exhaust manifold if I brazed my egt thermocouple probe to it or does that make it impossible.
Thanks!

Well when I installed my greddy egt gauge, I brazed in the fitting for the thermocouple probe. I was just wondering if I would be able to get the manifold ported with that fitting stuck on it or not. Sorry if I was vague.

Alrighty...... seeing your second post...... If you brazed it (welded?) chances are you distroyed your EGT Probe's accuracy.. they have a max temp that would of been exceeded by that process -- which will screw it up.

Check into getting a TRE EGT Probe.... awesome probes.

Well, actually you braze in the fitting, not the probe, then you fit the probe through the fitting. So I'm pretty sure my probe is just fine.

Yes you can still port as you won't be porting anything that deep into the manny. Is that what your asking or what??

If you put the probe in the proper place, you won't be able to get a bit that far in there anyway. All you really need to do to the runners is make sure they are free of casting junk.
