easy 4g63 question

ok i was wondering i am going to build a engine for my 95 gsx and i was going to use my 7bolt but then my friend gave me a 91 eclipse gs and it has a 6 bolt but it is non turbo and i was wondering the turbo non turbo 6 bolt was the same right? exept for the compresion and other thing? can i use that bolck and head cause i am going to get the jackson auto racing 2.4l strocker kit and also cams and the whole vale train so i was wondering if i do all new internals on the 6 bolt then use my intake mani and exaust mani if that will work? that was kinda confusing! and what will i need to bolt that engine to my tranny? thanks guys for the help.

1.The 6 bolt will bolt up to the tranny.
2. Are you talking about your 2g intake?, if so you don't want to use it stick with the 1g setup.
3. 1g N/A and T motors are the same besides the obveous parts.(cams,pistons)
4. There are about a bazillon treads on doing the swap SEARCH! RRE's and Shawns 98 GSX are good.

I just went and measured a 91 Turbo Head and a 94 NA Head and the intake ports are the same size (~2.5"x~1.5").
 
strange. I build them every day.
That's how we identify which head came off of a turbo or a non turbo. :confused:
I will bring a camera to work monday and get pictures.
 
pinknugget is prob thinking of the 1.8 litre non turbo motor........or he's thinkin of the 420a vs 4g63............. :dsm:
 
thanks for all the help. so i should build that block and heads right then i will have a built 6 bolt and almost stock 7 bolt. i am going to change every thing in the 6 bolt anyways, crank,rods,pistons,valves,vavlesprings/retainers,cams+gear and i should use the intake mani off the 1g even tho it is a non turbo one? i am going to have it ported and port and sworled valves. please let me know and thanks again.

no, there is a 4g63 with small ports. I do not know the exact casting numbers, but i think they might come off of a hyundai 4g63.
 
yes but all 1g heads are the same except the turbo model has higher lift cams. the 1g 4g63 blocks are vary by the pistons and the nt's do not have oil squirters. which people still build the nt blocks with turbo pistons and never miss a beat.

the 2g head as stated above does have smaller ports.
