I am about to install a 1g throttle body in my car and I wanted some information on throttle plate shaving or knife-edging. Obviously you can't change the profile of the tb plate or else it'll accept more air at idle (not good). Has anyone had any experience running cars with this modification done and does it have any difference?
I see some speed shops are doing this to the 1g TBs they sell.
I'll be running ~24# on the track when I get this thing tuned, and at those boost levels, I assume every bit helps. My question is: is it worth the time and effort (ans possible danger of screwing up the plate)?

In my honest opinion: absolutely not.

Can you tell a difference between 95% throttle and 100% throttle? Okay, how about 100% throttle and 100.5% throttle?

I can only imagine that the improved profile (when at WOT) only helps a tiny bit and only under huge amounts of boost.

I totally disagree! At low boost the one horsepower you get is like .5% instead of .25%....Proportionally twice as good!
