when i try to race im getting hesitation BAD if i hold it for a bit loud bangs from ex.
almost feels like clutch slip but the car still grabs hard in all gears even first. could it be fuel pump going? im getting embarassed im losing to civics w/nothing more than CAI and ex :dsm:

Doesnt sound like crankwalk. How are your plugs and wires? When was the last time you did a tune up? When you get to a certain rpm, Is that when it starts to stutter? Mine stuttered like that until I hooked up the 2nd vac line on my greddy type s, I thought it was fuel cut at first.

Sounds like you have a nasty boost leak. Almost all problems of lost performance, missing, general annoyance seems to stem from boost leaks on these cars. Go here http://vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html and make one. Then test your car and be amazed at how many you probably have, I had like 5 the first time I did mine. After that pull your plugs and see what they look like, it's amazing how much you can learn about an engine and how it's running by looking at plugs. You may need new ones and make sure you gap them properly. I don't care what anyone says about NGK's coming pregapped, they don't. Gap should be set at 28-32.

I think i have a similar thing going on. When i drive, I get what I'mi almost positive must be hesitation. It seems like what a misfiring plug or something would cause. even at idle it kinda burbles a little bit every few seconds. After about 20 minutes of this, my check engine light came on. I'll check for boost leaks, but will a boost leak cause the check engine light to coem on? I suppose it could also be a bad o2 sensor, but i dont see why that would cause a burble. Even at full throttle, i still get hesitation, so i kinda crossed that idea out. I guess I will check for a boost leak. My main concern is if a boost leak willc uase the check engine light to come on?

Checking for leaks is never a bad idea but you need to see what the CEL is for. Take it to Autozone and let them scan it. It tripped a code for a reason and you need to fix it.

I had a similar problem with hesitation after i changed my plugs to bosch platinum +4 plugs and my car ran like crap. I changed the plugs back to NGKs and the car ran perfect. Just my .02.

I'll throw my vote in for the plugs too. If nothing else, check the gap. The gap will subtly grow with each mile and if it's been a while since you changed/checked the plugs, the gap can be way off. Mine would stutter around 4k rpms. Thought I had bad gas, checked the fuel filter, checked the air filter, everything. Regapped the plugs & the problem is gone.

And even if it doesn't fix it, it takes 30 minutes, it's free, and it's a good idea to keep everything within tolerance...
