I'd like to know the exact numerical differences between the 2nd gen 420a and the 4g63 t. Such as exact displacement, like 1.xxx, i know its not a 2 liter...and compression ratios.

THANX

From what I remember their displacement was within a few cc's of each other, but the compression was totally different because one is turbo 8.5:1 (4G63) and the other was NA (420a) which was like 9.5:1 or something like that. The 420a is a neon motor. I can't remember anymore then that.

4g63- 1998 cc Very close to 2.0

I know my chiltons has it all. Best thing I ever bought!

420A:

inline DOHC
displacement: 1997 cc
compression ratio: 9.6:1
bore: 87.5 mm
stroke: 83 mm

4G63:

inline DOHC
displacement: 1997 cc
compression ratio: 8.5:1
bore: 85 mm
stroke: 88 mm
