I went to install my new (used) pocketlogger cable today and couldn't get it to work. The cable I have has 3 wires with spade connectors at the end colored blue, black and white. The other end is a standard rs232 male plug, which I connected to my serial pda sync cable. The 3 plugs are the ones I'm having trouble with I think. I plugged the blue into the data port, the black to one of the grounds, and the white to a fuse. I don't get any readings on my pda, says the cable isn't connected. So, what'd I mess up? I read on one install site that pins 10 and 12 need to be shorted to have the ecu move into logging mode or whatever, but I don't have enough connections on my cable to do that.

Anyone have any ideas? I'd really rather not have to spring $70 for a new cable...

Thanks!

I bought it used as a package with my PDA from a forum member, I don't know where he got it from. It is a grey cable though. I'll check ebay and see if it looks the same.

Well the white cable goes on the top left pin, the black one goes third from the bottom on the right side, and the blue goes on the bottom right. Hope that helps.

I have that cable and then I bought the cable to make it work with a sony clie but it won't log I was pissed. It works just fine with my friends palm and the guy told me it would work with the sony but it doesn't.

Do you remember how you're supposed to connect it though?

LOL I skipped right over it... Oops. Thanks man, it's too late to try tonight but I'll give it a shot tomorrow. If they go to those three plugs I'll just swap em around till it works!!! :)

No such luck... I tried it as you suggested and all I get is an error message when I run any of my tuning programs, basically say that there's a serial cable read error. I tried every combination of connections I could, didn't work. :/
