97 eclipse gs-t automatic. Ok so i put on my injen intake and upper IC pipe. Everything looks ok and then i start it up and take it for a ride. When i come to a stop at the top of the street the rpm's dip all the way down and car stutters and almost stalls. The rpm's go back up and level off a little but car still doesnt idle good. It doesnt stall so i get on the pedal and it seems to run ok till i slow down again. Do i need to get the idle/throttle adjusted? Do i have a leak somewhere? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

How do you know when you have a leak and its not something else besides testing it by doing a boost leak test with a compressor. Can you tell by driving? Cause the car will jump up to 17-18psi and then settle down and hold around 15psi when i go wot(this morning). This with my boost controller set around 1.15 bar i believe. Anyway this morning the car ran a little better. Maybe it ran bad last night cause i hadnt started the car in a week. We will see though. Any ideas? Is there such thing as the ECU adjusting to the new pipes and air flow? Dont laugh if thats stupid. Im still learning a lot thanks to you guys.

no the ecu shouldn't need to adjust that much.. and if so, it shouldn't give you bad idle. i have heard of terrible idle after people forgot to plug in the MAS electrical connection :) sorry, just trying all possible angles. other than that, you may have a small leak somewhere.. the rad hose / silicone couplers that you are given may compress after a day or two so try and go back and retighten them.. make sure you clamp them behind the bead so they don't move. good luck!

You shouldn't do mods like this without a boost/vacume gauge correctly hooked up. If you have one what are you pulling for a vacume now and what were you pulling before (quick not accurate leak check).

My boost gauge is running around where it was before i put on the pipes which is why im pretty confident its not a leak. Just got a little worried and trying to figure out what happened last night and why it ran bad. Could i still have a leak and be able to run over and hold over 15psi? Can really run to much higher than that....stock turbo

The turbo could possibly keep up with a small leak. but your vacume is much less forgiving. what does the boost gauge read for vacume when you are at idle?

Ill have to check it out later. Im at work right now. What should it be so i know when i see it?

I put the injen intake and upper ic pipe in last night then took it out for a ride. The car was sitting there with the battery disconnected for a week cause i was waiting for an air filter to arrive cause i started the job last week and my k&n didnt fit. So last night i took it out and this was the first time ive had this problem. Car felt like it was gonna stall when i came to a stop. But this morning on my way to work it was running fine. No problems that i could tell but i really didnt get a chance to get on it and push the car. Maybe it was cause it was sitting there for week?
