wich and why. I really know nothing about the features of either units, or the benefeits so lets keep this a 101 class of sorts. Thank you much :cool:

For 2Gs. DSMLink is the obvious choice.. So much power with stock sensors. The only tricky part comes into play when you have to locate a 95 EPROM ECU which are becoming more and more rare. E-Manage has harness up the wazoo along with new sensors and all that..
 
DSMLink all the way. It's what I'll be running, should I ever get some money.
 
DSMlink is the way to go. I got lucky on my find. I bought a brand new DSMlink w/eprom ECU already socketed w/the wiring harness on the ECU for $450. I havent tried it yet but its the way to go.

I can't comment on Greddy Emanage, don't know of anyone using it. I can comment on DSMLink however, as several friends have it and I have DSMLink in both my street car and my autocross car.

DSMLink is as simple or as complex as you want it to be - it all depends on how far you want to go with it. If you order it correctly, the default settings will reflect your 'base' tune - your injectors, your redline, your base fuel curve, your launch rpm, pretty much everything. You conceivable might never actually need to tune the car. If, like my racecar, you drive long distances to events, then fill with race gas for the event, then drive home, you can store different sets of maps on your laptop and switch between street gas and race gas fuel and timing maps in a matter of seconds, and DSMLink will turn the fuel pump on for you to pump all the gas out of the tank - that way your race gas doesn't get too polluted with the street gas.

You can datalog a couple of dozen different parameters and DSMLink doesn't slow to a crawl like standard ODB-II loggers where 3 parameters is the practical maximum. DSMLink will datalog boost using a GM 3Bar MDP sensor, a Wideband O2 (UEGO) sensor, and other stuff I'm sure I've forgotten. DSMLink has support for 2.4L motors, for switchable MAS-Speed Density, for GM MAFs, for...all sorts of stuff that I haven't even looked at yet. I've barely scratched the surface of DSMLink's functionality.

There's a thriving private BBS, where the developers are constantly asking and answering questions. New enhancements are constantly being discussed and developed. It's an incredible product as far as I'm concerned. It is so open-ended I can't imagine needing more outside of a CART team.

I have both. an e-01 for a boost controller and dsmlink as a management system. both are THE BEST, hands down.
