Need Help Installing Boost Gauge

I just got an electric autometer boost gauge and need help finding where to tap the 12V connection wire to, not the light wire. The instructions say to find a place that is switched by the ignition but doesn't shut off while cranking. It says that if this is not done then the gauge will not auto zero correctly. Anyone have any ideas where I could tap the wire into?

I connected my Autometer to "The tail light wire is green with a white stripe, with dashes on it," like the site says. The gauge light turns on and off with my headlights.

yeah, that wont help, this is a different wire than the light wire

It also says in the article that red is constant 12V. Is this what you're looking for?

I don't remember correctly, but is the cigarette lighter switched off/on when cranking?

if i recall i used the 12v of the cigarette lighter for the power on my gauges...
