I have just completed some significant work on this car (see my profile for details) and it has dyno'd at just 250 whp. The crew says the turbo is only pushing 8 psi (max) because the 2.5" turboback with a stock cat will not let it push any more - restricting my whp. Does this sound accurate?

no, unless it is clogged.

stock psi is 11.

do you have a boost controller on there? I didn't see one in your profile.

sounds accurate to an extent. Get a boost controller and crank it up. Put a test pipe or at least hfc on there and if you have the money go to a 3" exhaust setup.

Please tell me I'm reading your profile wrong. Do you really have a 54 trim turbo with a 255 pump and 660s and no way to control fuel? Yikes:confused:

Thanks. I do not have a boost controller yet. They are telling me to get a 3" cat and catback first. I had expected to be getting 350+/- whp after the current mods. Was that realistic?

If I can get general concurrance this is a requirement, next steps would be to add 3" cat (Random Tech) and catback (Tanabe?) and Apexi AVC-R, but wold rather not just throw money at it if it can be fixed with better tuning.

Thoughts?

(I'm still learning, but..) the DSMLink should handle fuel management, correct?

For the price of an AVC-R, you could get a manual boost controller and an AFC. You need a way to control your fuel. You can't just run 660s on a stock ECU without lowering airflow signal.

Obviously, crank up the boost. Once you do that you should see good results assuming you're tuned properly.
