I have a aquestion... I have reciently aquired a 92' eclipse non- turbo.
I know for sure that one of the cylenders are shot due to previous owner not taking care of motor and the timing slipped as well.
At any rate I am not very familiar with eclipses and the car was free.
I need some info from you guys on what otions I have avail. to me for that car I have access to aftermarket parts ect. As well as mechanics that are qualified to do the work that will be required.
1st ? Can the 4g93t motor work in this car?
Is it simliar to the 63t just JDM?
Any assistance would be appreciated......

I was under the impression that it was a ### spec turbo motor that was avail for/ able to be installed in the eclipse. ( I am aware that eclipse was only produced in the US. )

the 93t is a jspec 1.8turbo motor. Their is no point when the 63t is redaly available. Aslo, yes all 4g motors, weather it be 61,63,64,15 motors started out form the same mold

Like coltboostin said, it would be better if you just went with a 4G63.
if you already have the 4G93, ecu and harness and don't want to buy a 4G63 then you can swap it in as long as its the proper orientation. Like many of Mitsu's motor the older ones were made in a different orientation than the newer ones (i.e. dsms have the timing belt on the driver's side while evo IV+ have the timing belts on the passenger side).

yeah, i think i saw that one posted on the Mirage board. Not only would the 63 be cheaper, but its got such a huge aftermarket in the states. I can't imagine it would be very easy to find parts for the 93 DOHC Turbo unless you can cross reference them with some OEM US parts.

definitely, go for the 63t rather than a 93t...
more reliable and more parts not to mention more aftermarket parts readily available....

from what i know.... 4g93t are engines that came from a 93-96 lancer GSRs from japan.....
a 1.8 liter turbo engine.....
