BCS Removal

I wouldn't remove the BCS without having a MBC to put in it's place. If you still have to get a MBC, there is a mod you can do to the BCS that removes the little restrictor inside and gives you a couple extra pounds of boost.

Once you get your MBC and install it, remove the BCS and tape off the connector that is left behind.
 
I removed the BCS restrictor and i didn't use a mbc, you
don't need absolutely have to have one yet...I ran my car like that for
a half year
 
BCS is like a factory boost controler, i dont have a boost controler yet, and i did that mod, if your getting a MBC then doing the BCS mod is pointless cause you dont even use the BCS anymore. All the BCS mod does is raise your factory boost setting alittle.

First off, get a boost gauge and install it if you haven't already. When you remove the restrictor, you go from a stock setting which can be anywhere from 9 to 12 psi to around 2lbs more. With a MBC, you can get a reliable amount of boost as high or as low as you want. The BCS and the stock gauge are only a guestimate of what kind of boost you are actually making. A MBC will serve you much better and for how cheap they are, it's an easy way to introduce yourself to tuning your car without too much risk of damage.
 
Removing the BCS after you get a boost controller will help wastegate response a bit. The more hosing and t's you have, the more of a pressure drop you will create. Eliminating the unnecessary hoses and connections also decreases the number of possible boost leaks. There's no real reason to keep it if you do have a seperate boost controller.

One other thing - a boost controller will only let you set boost as low as whatever the wastegate spring is set at. I'm not too sure what that is on a DSM (have only had mine a month).
 
It doesnt really matter if you have a MBC to take off the BCS, it will just lower the boost to the wastegate spring pressure (10psi). i dont know why you would want to do that though...
