I have the motor out and on a stand. I have it stripped down except for the crank and a few minor things but I can't get that big ass bolt off on the pulley side. Any tips on how to get the crank off?

someone told me to put the head back on and there will be enough compression then to get it off with an impact. Isn't it on at 100+ ft lbs???? So that won't work will it?

thats how it is supposed to be done in the first place or thats just how it can be done? I don't want to damage or break anything especially as far as the crank goes so I'm being extra careful. Thanks.

Yea, but it will require a lot of work. You would have to put the head back on, attach the tranny, put the tranny in 4th or 5th gear and break it. It works on practically every car, but I've never tried it on a DSM. That tool that was linked to above is the best way to do it, but it requires the head being on as well. I like Defiants way too :D
