2.4L 16 Valve DOHC 4G63 Stroker Motor Build
I am building a 2G 4G63. Here's what I plan on doing:
1. Buy stock block and head. (DONE)
2. Have head and block rebuilt and have the head ported.
Will have my TB over-bored to 63mm also.(Local Machine Shop)
3. Buy:
Full Gasket Kit (eBay, unless there are better suggestions)
Head
Springs and Retainers (Brian Crower BC0100)(DONE)
Stage 3 Cams 280/280 (Brian Crower BC0102)(DONE)
GReddy Intake and Exhaust Cam Gears (Intake:13533301 and Exhaust:13533301)
GReddy Timing Belt (Part #:13534500N)
Intake and Exhaust Valves (Brian Crower BC3104 and BC3105)
ARP Head Studs
Block
Stroker Kit (Brian Crower BC0109)
**NOTE: Stroker kit designed for late model and Evo 7 bolt. Go to a 2.4L with 86mm bore. Kit includes 4340 billet 102mm crank, Econo rods, custom pistons made to your desired bore and compression, pins, rings and locks. (Over-bored to .040)
ACL Race Series Rod/Main Bearings
Also buying a laptop and DSMLINK, a 1G throttle body(DONE), Apexi N1 exhaust, an intake, and porting my intake manifold.
Top it all of with a powder coated valve cover from boneheadperformance.com
4. Install all the parts that I buy. Be sure to use plenty of lubricant and gasket sealer. Torque everything by the book (Chilton's Manual).
5. Take apart trans. and put in a longer 1st from vr4.
6. Upgrade the entire fuel system. Walbro 255lph and so on.
7. Drop the motor into my AWD TSi and tune it.
All together I plan on spending $6,000 or slightly more and my hopes are 450HP or more and 25psi or more.
If anyone can think of something I haven't taken into consideration please let me know!

You can make more then 400hp on a stock motor. I recommend switching to a 6 bolt bottom end. Don't waste your money on the BC stroker kit. Just get a 4g64 crank and stroker specific pistons. For your cylinder head you may want to consider switching to bronze valve guides as well as 3mm lifters. Head gasket choice is very important. I recommend the Mitsu MLS one, with a 40RA or better finish on the head and block. I posted in your thread, PM me if you want anymore advice. Also what clutch setup are you doing with and why are you getting such big cams and keeping the stock intake manifold?
