Posted 07-20-2008 at 07:33 PM by TalonTsi31
the build as i mentioned before i am building a 2.3 storker. i have a magnus intake mani, 75 mm tb, 10an fuel rail, 650's(will need to go) and all other goodies in my profile.
the story i am no expert on turbos and tried decifering through all the differant .ar's trimms ect. and i am more confused.... well i guess educatedly confued
on exactly what i need
this is what im looking for basically i am looking for a 450-475 whp street manorish car.i would like to make torque numbers in the 400's and not have toooooooo much turbo lag.
i have been looking at the FP green.
please i am open to all sugestions as i am completly lost.
thanks in advance for all the help,
pat

I also agree with the GT30R. But, to give it a twist, go with the new HTA model that FP has. It jumps up from 52 lb/min to 57 lb/min without more lag. I have felt a GT30R on a 2.3 and it is good. More importantly however, is your cam selection. Good luck man

well that was pretty unanimous.lol
i really wanted to stay with the mitsu stuff because my mani and o2 are mitsu. other wise i have to put more money into a manifold and downpipe. plus what are your guys opinions on external over internal. i know that the external controls boost better. but at the point of an FP red or FP green or GT30R have i out grown internal. what i am now thinking is i will save and get a gt30r punishment tubular or somthing equvilent a tial 38 and custom down pipe. |

Well if you want to stay mitsu, PTE has a 3076R that is a bolt on. But we all forgot to ask something: Do you want 450+ on pump gas, or race gas, or pump with meth?
If you want big numbers on pump, then a GT35R would be better suited for you. But that only comes in a T3 so you would need to do the same thing as with a HTA turbo. I was thinking something along the lines of this. |

GT35r can be fitted to Vband, t3, or mitsu(FP).
I would also suggest an FP3065, |

I have a 2.3 with a ball bearing 60 trim. I'm working on some cooling issues, so I haven't had it to the track, dyno, or even logged a good run. I can tell you it has scary power in any gear at any RPM above 2,500, it's relatively inexpensive and bolts to a stock manifold.

how is the spool time on that 60 trimm BB and what manufactuer is it?

It's a PTE 6031. It's fully spooled just over 3,500 RPM, but more impressively it starts to spool before 2,500 RPM. I had the same turbo when the car was a 2.0 and didn't like it, because it didn't start to spool until over 3,000 RPM and wasn't fully spooled until 3,900 RPM. It felt slow because the boost would build slowly until it hit about 15psi then it was fast up to full spool and over. It took a long time to recover after shifts too. It was flowing more air, but my car wasn't any faster than it was with the 18g I had before the 60 trim. It feels faster in 4th gear than it did in 3rd gear before the stroker.

what knid of numbers did you make torque wise. i have seen about 550 to 590 whp out of that turbo.
but what kind of torque? any one think this will spool faster that the GT30R? also what psi were you running i am looking for quik spool time and 450-475 whp and over 400 wtq on 18-22 psi |

I have not taken it to a dyno or track yet, and I won't until I can get the car to run lower than 216°. I'm running 21 psi.
