I Hate My Car
This thing is starting to piss me off. After dropping about $4k into the Spyder this year, I'm ready to drive her off a cliff. The car is only driven in the summer and it just so happens it was up on jack stands most of the time waiting for parts. I think I've put about 200 miles on her this year and it's almost time to put her back in storage.
First it was the clutch that went right before the timing belt job. Then it was having to pull the tranny a 2nd time because the 6-puck chatter was more than I wanted to deal with. Next was the new WBO2 that kept reading lean because the flex section in the DP was leaking.
Then we move to the busted exhaust manifold stud that lead to a busted turbine bolt in the turbine housing. Let's not forget about waiting 7 weeks to get parts from Extreme and finally having to threaten to file a fraud report. Then there's the crushed oil cooler from all the problems I had with my mechanic screwing up the timing belt job.
Oh, and now my WBO2 is on the fritz again and pulling the same crap it did before I installed the new DP about 30 miles ago.
Anyone want to buy a Spyder.

Well, it sure looks good atleast. HA! I cringed when I saw your thread on the oil cooler being crushed by your mechanic. Unbelieveable.
A 7 week wait for parts!!! That is seriously just plain rediculous. I have no furthur comment as I sit here with my jaw hanging wide open trying to figure out what would take so long for a part/s. As for the crazy wideband, I would just go through re-tightening the exhaust flange bolts and see where that gets you. Maybe the sensor itself is loose. Maybe, it is just downright bad luck this 1/2 year the Spydy was out. I would try and send you some luck, but I've run fresh out myself. So I will wish it. Good luck. |

At least you have something else to get you from Point A to Point B. Be grateful for that.

Yeah, I checked all the gaskets and everything looks good. I think Extreme did a crappy job with the angle of the downpipe. I ended up having to yank it around a good bit to get it to fit. I've decided I'm just going to move the bung in front of the flex section so I don't have to worry about this in the future.
As for luck, thanks but being a DSM'er like myself, you need it just as much as I do. ![]() |

Some help is better than no help. Where I live the mechanics won't touch any imports with the slightest modifications on it. I have had to either transport my car 2 hours away or figure it out my self. Thank god for these forums. I had one mechanic put the car back together with out fixing because he couldn't or didn't want to take the tranny out to change a broke clutch. Then he wanted to charge me for the labor of looking at it.
