Quick update with the seat pics. Took some of the bottom for you guys who like to build your own brackets. The Corbeau brackets look pretty low profile. Ill post more pics once the seats are in the car. These seats are courtesy of my wife. What a great gift huh! I just mentioned that I wanted/needed some safer seats and she offered to help! So I owe the first piece of safety equipment on the...
Well people I have brought back to life another dsm I put in my knock sensor hooked up the battery and pulled the ecu fuse, and turned it over to get her primed till the oil light turned off. Plugged every thing back in, put the ecu fuse back in and she fired right up. Ill get a video soon and more pics.

Ok, today I finally had time to go check out my eagle after a month or so. After poking around and remove most of the wire crimps, I come across a hack up ignition wire by the key hole. Who in the right mind would crimp it in the middle of wire. Seriously! Now I have to go figure out what gauge wire (AWG) for it and clean it up.
I know I said there will be pictures. I will definitely...
Where to begin! My last blog was my end of the year video, but I made it in October thinking that I was done for the year. Well it turns out that I couldn't even make it 2 months without doing more! As of the last blog, this is where I stood:
Stock turbo, stock fuel injectors, stock intercooler, stock ECU, full interior, street tires, FWD, 14 pounds of boost.

well i think i figured out the reason my oil pressure gauge doesn’t work and if not then i am going to look into replacing the gauge all together with an aftermarket one. the doors are in work i am trying to get them put back together so i can get all the panels and glass lined up and back to a working condition. i was told that the new downpipe was delivered today. hopefully i can get that installed...
Like my blog states, I'm currently restoring a 95 Eagle talon AWD. I bought this shell for thirty bucks Its current condition is not to well. The body is strait, it still has the 4 bolt rear and drive line. The interior is pretty bad but with the plan I have I'm OK with that.

in my last post, I think I mentioned something how the engine surprised me with needing machine work. One would think that by now I would've learned that nothing gets by "easy" with this car.
Still love it, though.
Anyways, the machine shop told me that I should see the engine mid-April. It is being bored over .020, line honed, maganfluxed, balanced, cleaned,...

Hello everyone. As you can see I updated my sponsors for the 2011 campaign that is now under way.
There will be some upcoming announcements as I get all the new goodies from the sponsors onto the car in the next few months. Most notably we added Magnus Motorsports. We had reached the end of the performance of the car because we could not keep oil at the pickup. We had been using...

hows it goin guys. finally had the clutch put in. a local dsmer helped me out on this was a real great guy. nice to meet other people out there that love these cars. i also had him put on some aluminum shift linkage bushings. as far as the clutch goes it is a HUGE difference. the previous pressure plate had cracks and lots of hot spots. the clutch disk was just gone. i had a act 2100 put on and its...

Here is a sneak peak of the magnus motorsports dry sump kit. These pieces are absolutely beautiful. The pan and the front cover are unbelievably nice. Custom bracket to use a 5 stage barnes pump. I dont think I can go back ever again the dry sump really makes the 4g63 engine. We have so many problems with crankcase and lubrication. This should be a huge step for engine reliability, popping out...

I only fired it up twice last night but only for about 1 - 2 seconds at a time, it's not reading any oil pressure at the moment so I need to figure out whats going on. After the first time I fired it up it I checked the oil and it was low so i put some more oil in it, tried it again and the light stayed on. Didn't think to check the actual gauge for oil pressure but tonight when I get home I will...
Well I got ALOT done sense I last posted. I got the cylinder head put all together with my stainless swirl polished valves and 3g revised lifters. Got the cylinder head put on and torqued down. Got the clutch put on got the trans put on the back of the motor. Found a few problems on the trans...... The bracket that bolts to the trans for the side mount where loose and from shifting had worn the bolt...

Hey guys, I haven't updated the log in a while. But I have gotten a lot of work on both cars done. The floors have all gotten painted, and I have started work on the engine and the accessory wire harnesses. I labeled the harnesses thanks to snowborder714's write-up. Now I'm deciding what I will keep and where I will be re-routing stuff. The goal (obviously) is to get rid of anything that I don't need...

I know it has been a while since the last post so I suppose it is time for an update. For the most part it has been a lot of small "here and there" type work. The car is about 98% complete, well assembled anyway all the body work and paint still needs to be done. All the intercooler tubing welding was done by me except for the one flange for the BOV. My welding isn’t the best but I think...
In the last couple of weeks things have been quiet in the RochesterDSM One Lap world but as we sat and waited for news from Magnus Motorsports a stead stream of parts have been arriving. We had planned for the build to take a few weeks and we would have the car back first week of April. Little did we know that once Marco gets moving on something mountains move.
As of Dec 19, this is how Ronin sat. I had the rear completed with all new bushings except for the rear toe arms. Was waiting on the new ones to arrive so I could push out the new bushings and replace it with the Prothane ones. I also had the fronts done with brand new lower control arms and and Prothane bushings. I did however break the sway bar end link on the drivers side and had to order a new....

Over the next few months i kept finding these really good deals and had obviously decided that this was no longer a simple put it back together project. So I kept snatching up parts left and right. Also started doing some powder coating between picking up parts. Here's a few pics of the turbo and valve cover. I ended up selling the valve cover as it was only a test piece for me. I still needed to...
Ok I know I have been dormant for a while cause I've been ####ing with my Trailblazer SS. Well the tool bags on TBSSOwners.com have single handedly made me lose interest in even messing with the Trailblazer that much. I wrote a how to on how to wire electric fans in without buying this over prices kit from a vendor that everyone there nut swings off of and def got banned because the company owner...

I meant to post nightly updates like I did last year during my "annual" spring break build week, but I didn't get around to it until now.
This year's list of projects was slightly smaller:
-DG Suspension
-Energy Suspension bushings
-STM -6an Tank to Rail Kit
-New rear brake calipers
-Goodridge SS brake lines
In February, I came across a Magnus dogbox for sale on a message board I frequent. I tried holding out as long as I could, but temptation won. Videos like this from my local track don't help (Casey was running a PTE 6262 and a Shep Dogbox!) The Magnus dogbox is now at my house waiting to be installed.

While I was under the car taking out the drive shaft I had seen that a chunk of rubber was hanging out of one of my rear end mounts. So after the engine was pulled, I dropped the rear sub-frame. I ended up purchasing rear sub-frame mounts that were an aluminum/poly mix. Also ended up buying the prothane full suspension kit (by far the most time consuming part of the build). ...
Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted last. First, I got some messages and I wanted to let people know that I was not in Japan when the quake hit, I had just come back to the US for work. I got word today that my apartment is intact and no serious damages except my bottle of nice scotch. If you can afford to help out please donate something, even $10 for the Red Cross. Ill start at the beginning and get you all caught up as much as possible. So got the car when somebody had already started on it. Originally had a upgraded turbo, crap cams, water meth kit, FMIC, exhaust, and a shep trans. Blew the first motor, put in new one. Blew the turbo (was already on its way out but guessing from crap in first engine blow too). Upgraded to GT35R. Blew second motor (thoroughly...

So I haven't done much to her in a couple months because of weather and dealing with the ARC2 people. I ended up getting my money back because the people I was dealing with had no idea what they were doing. I made a deal with Nate at MA Performance and he got me a new arc2 without having to deal with the factory. (see previous journal for details about the arc2 which was shorted out NIB)

To do a recap on where we last left off I had begun the tedious task of pulling the wiring harness to ready myself for stripping down the harness and getting it race/ tuck ready. This process will include removing a MAJORITY, yes, more sh*t is removed than kept, of the unneeded bull crap from the harness. Relocating it to a more hidden location ad above all...
Its been some times since i really did anything to this, and this last week i sent in my ECU to get repaired, new caps, and a socket job to prepare me for the future which involves v3!! I also replaces some small interior parts and got a oil catch can!(no pics of the the oil catch can) Did also get my power steering bolted back up and ready to use, and a new battery tray and strap down! Getting...
So I picked up a 1995 Eagle Talon awd in green from a fellow dsmer. So I thought to myself, if this guy is a dsmer than this project shouldn't be too bad.
WRONG, from what I thought was a simple project of fixing up the ECU wire cuts became more than that. The entire radio wiring is cut up, none of the speakers are set up, many cheapo style of cutting up wires using a spade connect...

Well thot id give an update with the car. The other day i noticed white smoke comin out the exhaust while it was warmin up. So i did a comp test and the results were 202, 190, 190, 195. Seems to be in great condition so ruling out the HG. Ordered a new pcv and if that doesnt work im gonna guess its my turbo is needing a rebuild. Im also thinking it might be the turbo because i was boosting to 10lbs...

So, a little update on the status of the DSM. I already have most of the stuff removed on the engine. All that is left is to unbolt the trans, and motor mounts, and cross member. Once that's done the engine is coming up.
My girlfriend's bro is a big DSM fan also, and has helped me out a great deal by selling me a 7 Bolt bottom end that is in great condition. Pistons, rods, crank, everything....

Hello everyone, so I'm a starting a slight build. This build will not happen over a week, or even month, but over a few months. I want to give a little background about my car.
My love is a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. This puppy came with all the options except for leather seats, which I put in anyway. It has the extremely awesome LSD differential option. I bought the car almost a year...
Hey guys, I just took a few pictures of the progress, sandblasted subframe, painted LCA and rear sway bar and also started tearing down more parts of the rear suspension to get sandblasted. Tearing down the rear suspension is an absolute pain!!! So many rusted bolts that refuse to come off...
Hey guys, long time in the making I'm finally posting this up on a blog.
This blog will be about my ongoing DD project. I have a 95 GSX that I bought 4 years ago. 2 blocks later instead of doing a patch fix to get it back up and running I decided to finally do a full build up on it. This was my first car, but since buying it it's had crazy wiring issues, and defective odds and ends....
This past weekend Steve and I trailered up his Evo X to Magnus Motorsports so Marco could begin the process of transforming it into a One Lap road racer. We had a great time and learned a lot about the inner workings of Magnus Motorsports, the people, and Marco himself. We took lots of pictures and set in motion a build plan that is going to be pretty epic.

The RochesterDSM One Lap team is proud to announce that Jay Racing has sponsored the One Lap Evo X with one of their brand new Jay Racing fuel pumps.
Jay Racing sent us one of there brand new Pro Series part# PT342 a standard replacement for the Walbro 342 high pressure pump (AKA Walbro 255HP High Pressure 255 LPH). This pump outflows the Bosch Motorsports 044 and draws less current...
Its been a few years now and this is where im at and still a long way to go.. Its amazing how much money these things can burn. And im not even half happy with whats done yet. I would post a list of mods but pictures are worth so much more

So it has been some time since I have posted an Update. The highlights of what has been happening. I got my block back from the machine shop and I had purchased STD Wiseco pistons to use for this build. I had the machine shop hone it out for me. I did My final wash as stated by BogusSVO in one of his tech threads, and then started to take my measurements for clearances. As I measured the Bores I got...

Local guy here is upgrading his setup and was gettin rid of some stuff. So i picked up his evo mani that has been ported out. I also was not feelin the rims that the car has on it. Not really into the whole black with sliver lip. So i started lookin for something knew had it down to some black Rota d2s or some bronze sub-zeros. But to keep in the theme i found a nice set of evo mr bbs wheels instead....
So after exactly 1 year I heard the voice of my baby again! Oh, I've missed it.
The past 3 weeks I was busy fixing small stuff like wires, hoses, clamps, leaks...well getting her ready for the first ignition.
Today was pretty adventurous. A dead battery, leaking turbo water feed pipe, cracked oil cooler, unplugged ECU connector and stuff like that just made it more dramatic....
