Well winters coming soon so i figured i probablly wont be updating to much during this busy season so heres a final hoorah until spring time.
So far nothing drastic has changed with my setup. I turned the boost up to 20psi and tuned accordingly. I also managed to fix all my CELs. Having that lil CEL light disapear gives sucha great feeling. Also i finally leaned the car out for cruise...

So my last entry was awhile ago (see mod list here), and I mentioned that the next update would have dyno and timeslips so here goes.
First, the dyno. Shortly after my last update I hit the local dynojet. 23-24psi peak boost, falling to 15-16 by 6k. Running on E85. Made 321whp and 336 ft/lbs. Can't complain for a 14b on stock head/cams/intake!

DECONSTRUCTION!!! Ahhh I have been waiting 18 long months for this. However, The interior developed some kind of FUNKY smell.
So, I start taking apart the interior, starting in the trunk. In the spare well I find a pool of water, almost enough to cover my windshield reservoir. Cleaned that out, and removed the reservoir, as NONE of my squirters work. Diagnosed it to be that the motors/pumps...

Alright, here it is.
I've had most of the parts for my motor swap, pulled my motor roughly 10 or so days ago, of which I rented a car for my parts needs and to go to work, it's stacking up so it's time for my motor to find it's new home.
for the past few days I've been waiting for a new flywheel, my old one's bolts are super uber doublemint hercules'd on....or probably...

Finally got the car home. This thing looks even better in person. The fab work on this car looks great. I took some better pics today. Pardon the surface rust. I have to get everything painted soon.

As usual, I was plagued with mechanical issues at the event. On Saturday I only got one timed lap before I had to retire.
Just before this event, I had added that new valve cover with the big vents. One of those vents was routed to my exhaust using a Moroso crankcase evacuation system. Just before this event, I had installed a new valve cover with the big -10AN vents. One of those vents...
Hey guys! Ok so my reasoning behind joining dsmtuners was because over the past few years i've helped my buddy fix his car and stuff and whenever we had questions i could find the answer here plain and simple. Well it turns out his car is now mine for the fixing and "rebuilding"
Now the rebuild Im planing is not your run of the mill dsm rebuild. My plans include building a...

Saturday was cold, cloudy, and windy. Steady winds of 35mph with gusts over 50. It was hard to keep heat in the tires, especially with 10+min between...

Over the years of slowly building this car up, it's finally getting close to were I want it. My goal was to make as much power as I can on pump gas and a 16g turbo. I have not yet got it on a dyno to know for sure what its making for power, last time I went to the 1/4 mile track I had a bad day.... starter went out and my punishment intercooler was getting heat soaked, and I ended with a disapointing...
Havent posted on here in a long time, i think its time to change that. A lot of things have changed since the last time I posted a blog. First of all, I picked up a 95 240sx for 700$. Owner welded the rear diff, locked it up, snapped the driveshaft, blew the trans, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Stripped her down, then school started and I sold it (plus I missed working on my dsm).

For those interested, I'll be building this car for street/strip duty. Hoping to eventually make it capable of chasing the 14b/16g records (no nitrous). I know it's got a long way to go, but that's my ultimate goal. So I got a little time this past weekend to work on my Laser. For those just seeing this, just want to point out that I got this car for $500. 220k miles, ran like crap, but is very straight....

The build lives on. Let me get you guys up to speed. Ok, the cage was completed some time ago. The seat had to be modified to give me more head room. This required the floor to be modified and the E-brake moved to the other side of the Shifter. Nate tells me that I should have all the room I need. Then the issue of the rear end came up. Like most guys the only option I had was to buy those...

Hey everyone. After giving up the never ending front wheel drive battle with Honda's, i've wised up and bought a dsm. I good friend of mine was parting out his car, so I bought everything he had left.
After a bust dyno session last week. We headed back to the dyno at ZipTie Dynowerks last night. T. Talon ran awesome and put down 602hp/474tq at 36 psi. I'm still running the evo maf so we didn't push the boost any higher because of maf overrun. Yes, I do plan on going speed density. The car just hasn't been up and running long enough this season to get it done. The last race of the year is tonight...

Well i turned up the boost to 18 and took out a few degrees of timing and the car has no knock anymore. Even with the boost creep everything is looking fine and its running great! Cant wait to put some money away over the winter and see where i am and what i can afford to do when spring comes.
There was a local club hosting a autox at the airport and I decided why not see what I could do. I hit lots of cones And dropped my times from 41 seconds to 37.35 clean. Best time was 36 DNF with 2 cones I moved the bases, and sometimes as long as it is in the chalk mark at all it is still good but they made this a real tight coarse. I was in 1st the whole time, and had a blast. I turned...

Well i finally had a quick tune done to the car. I had originally planned to have it tuned here by a member but with my boost creep coming back from the dead and not being able to accuratly log afrs i felt it best just to have it done locally. As far as the tune goes i was happy with how the car ran but in terms of power and the put you back in your seat feeling i was quite disapointed. Its to be...

Just finished my preparations for MOD 2001 !!!! I have been so excited i could hardly contain my self and ended up putting some hours into my car. I put the zero on a diet and gave it as best a detailing as i could. Over the past couple of days I removed all the loom and electrical tape from the OEM harness. This is a super messy job, went through a couple pairs of nitrile gloves.
First day, I got up to the DRL/High beam relay bracket done (that's what those relay rust things are). I'll likely be doing away with the bracket as it's pretty pointless and HUGE to mount two little things. I'm also...

My second outing in the Talon for 2011... and it was August!
After fixing my cracked exhaust manifold and melted oil dip stick, I was ready for action.
The venue for this event was in a rather small & tight parking lot in Truro. That meant a small & tight course, which does not favor my car. It's also somewhat bumpy with lots of big dips. So I wasn't...

I've been slacking on my event reports, so I'll try to catch up.
This event was my first outing in the Talon this season. I had spent the whole preceding Saturday working on the car, trying to finish some stuff up, which spilled over to Sunday morning (details posted here). So I didn't make it to the track until the afternoon sessions.

I figured this would be some good information to post since I haven't made a blog in a while. I pieced together a set of DG coilovers a while ago (Nov. 2010) and am just now getting around to installing them. It's been hard knowing they're sitting in my house and not on my car for that long, but I wanted to do everything right when I put them on. This included installing SPC upper control arms...

Well, the car has about 19 miles on her. Drove around town looking for a place to do an alignment. The first place said they wouldn't touch it because of the lowering springs. Ended up at Belle Tire. However, they couldn't get to it; so she goes back Tuesday.
In the meantime, messed with the damaged CF hood a but, fixed some odds and ends on the car.. like a new lower radiator...

I've been working on the car for a couple days but haven't really made much noticeable progress, which is fine with me because I'm not really in a hurry. I'm more concerned with doing things right with this car, something which must have never crossed the previous owner's mind. There's not a whole lot wrong with the car, so it's just gonna be minor details that will probably take some time. I've...

Ok so I'll start off with a history of my car from the beginning. The eclipse was bought in November of 2006 in Phoenix AZ. I flew down from MO to pick up my Jeep which I had left in Nogales when I was working with the border patrol for the national guard. I acquired my car via trade of my 1991 laser rs turbo. A trade i didn't want to make, but had to. Mainly because i had no money and work has been less than reliable the last few years. however i still have that tuner bug in me and can't help myself when it comes to modding, even on a budget of 0.
