Blog Title: 1998 AWD Spyder build
The car is a Monarch Green 1998 GST Spyder Auto.

I am doing a 5-speed swap along with the drivetrain swap. The car is going to be back in pristine condition.

I hope everyone will enjoy the progress I hope to make in the next month or so.

1998 AWD Spyder Project

Posted 11-22-2010 at 02:12 PM by link16 (1998 AWD Spyder build)

I guess the right thing to do here is to start with a back story.

I was sitting at work (Mitsubishi parts) and recieved a phone call from a kind old lady; she says that she wrecked the front of her car and doesn't want to see it go to the junkyard. I told the lady that I would gladly come take a look at the car and offered her $500 up front before seeing the car. Later that day I...

I finally got my Talon running on all 4 cyl, after buying her with a broken timing belt, and 16 bent valves. Mitsu MLS headgasket, OEM timing belt, water pump, new pullys new gaskets and seals, BSE and more that I can't remember. She also had a little facelift, and I think for the money she looks great. The talon project

Posted 02-28-2009 at 03:10 PM by link16 (1998 AWD Spyder build)

So...Two weeks ago I picked up a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi FWD for $600. Towed her home and started the job. I established the fact that it has a 6-bolt installed. I put all new mitsubishi parts on the timing side to no avail. She spins freely with only one cyl. seeming to fire. I am going to get her towed to work and see what I can do with her, so far I have $600 for the car and $600 in parts invested....

To be or not to be?

Posted 06-13-2008 at 07:27 AM by link16 (1998 AWD Spyder build)

That is the question. I am trying to sell my GSX but I just KNOW I will want it back. I bought another eclipse b/c I was sad for parting out my RS-T. It needs a trans and a heater core. I have a DD now (learned my lesson) but I just can't decide whether or not to keep it. The car is really rare and in great condition I just can't stand the 2nd gear grind and the lack of heat can do it too....
