I finally cut my dump tube and removed the accordion section of my intake at the same time, and discovered some odd results. I am not posting this in a forum because I know there are multiple threads on it already, but here are my thoughts.

Firstly, my BOV is WAY quieter. Instead of a whistle/chirp there is a large rush of air that ends in a high pitched squeak. Not very pleasant sounding - I like the air sound, and spoolup is a little louder, but the squeak!

Secondly, I had to adjust my BOV way harder. I have a type-s, and the only way I could stop the compressor surge before was to have both nipples hooked up and the tension adjusted all the way soft. Now I have it adjusted more than half of the way in. I really can't figure out the reason for this except that maybe the increased air flow is exerting more force? No change in boost pressure, but I think that a greater volume of air would have the same effect?

I also noticed a more vigorous top end which would coincide with increased air flow. It is still no vtec engine, but it definitely pulls harder from 5000-6000 rpms.

Overall I am pleased. I made the center section of my intake from polished exhaust tubing, and I flared both ends to get a tight fit.

Anyone have suggestions on a BOV that doesn't sound like a stepped on mouse?
