Well Sunday was horrible, I drove really bad. The course was very technical, and after all four runs I still didn't find a line I liked through most of the course. Though it wasn't all bad, after my runs I rode along with a few people to maybe find what I did wrong. I started talking with a bunch of former and current National Qualifiers and Trophiers, and they gave me some tips.
Monday was way better! I was able to walk the course with some really expirenced guys and we were able to determine a really good line through the course. I FINALLY ran second heat so first heat I rode with as many people I could to see the course at speed. (In my region if you are a novice drive you can ride before your run) For my run second heat I got two of the National Qualifing drivers to ride with me and they both said it looked really good! When I messed up I knew I did and I knew how to fix it. They both said its really down to getting some R compound tires and just seat time seat time seat time.
I finished 8th out of 13 in my class but got closer to the season points I wanted. I also started driveing the right speed on every run, I used to improve each run by two or three seconds, I wasn't getting that much better I was just going that much slower. But this time I improved by 1 or 2 tenths of a second.
I'm really happy with this weekend results and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, and getting some good race tires.

Nice job Jordan. In AutoX, its always nice to be able to walk the course with some nationally experienced drivers who can give you some pointers along the way. Its a good thing you get that opportunity to walk it as this may be the last chance you see it (the course) before you drive it.
R-Compound tires will help you out more than you know man. Tires are 85 - 90% of this deal as we have talked about before. Good Luck !!! |
