Blog Title: Time Attack Build Blog :: 1997 Eclipse GST Spyder :: Andrew Brilliant
The saga of a demon. Striving to create the fastest street driven FF (front wheel drive) car in the US, we constructed a fire breathing monster out of my 1997 Eclipse GS-T Spyder.
This is the same car that blazed across the salt flats in land speed trim during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

That scion has got to be the ugliest thing on 4 wheels I've seen in a while. I mean...I respect that fact that it's putting down 1,000 hp...but that wing...what were they thinking? I'm sure there had to have been another way to get more traction.Posted 10-02-2009 at 04:57 PM by 10fold

There are better ways to make that downforce, but really that was just a short path between fast and faster. It doesnt do you any good to be monumentally fast if your fast after everyone else is faster. To develop that downforce even with a large budget I would have needed probably 3-4 mos to develop the car with someone just doing the body/molds full time.Posted 10-02-2009 at 07:14 PM by gixxerdrew

They do not make a cover for his current engine configuration. He is going to have to build a custom one I would guess.

Disappointing to not see any more coverage of your car than the few glimpses that were there. But that looked like it must have been fun!Posted 10-10-2009 at 06:17 PM by RipperXX

DragSport.com - DSport Magazine - Table of Contents
i went through that magazine though and read that redline article and DEFINITELY would have recognized your car in those pages and i don't remember seeing it.
i do remember that scion with a spoiler on the hood
