Since my last post I have been busy trying to work out some bugs on the car. I ended up replacing the battery after having it tested and it was smoked. I also picked up a battery tender after having to replace the battery each spring in my motorcycle so one for the car was next. I don't drive the car everyday and it just kills my battery. I also discovered that my laptop battery is smoked after trying to log some runs with link. I'm having no luck here, so now I'm waiting for DHL to show up with the replacement. I did take the car out for some runs and it runs good until wide open and then it runs pig rich and breaks up.

So anyway onto the splitter. I've always liked the way the 2g's looked with a front splitter so instead of going the easy route I said what the F and started making one the way i wanted it to look. Maybe it will work maybe it won't.

So I started out by picking up a few materials. The base core and ease of layout is going to be Elmers foam board followed up by 2 layeds of foam backed KEVLAR, and 2 layers of Carbon Fiber which should be here in a couple of days. The foam board (6)I picked up from Walmart and comes in 20"x30"x1/4" sheets. The Nose is 66" across and I added 2" to each side making it 70". I would have finished more to day but this cold weather sucks and its killing my motivation. Sorry no pics computer is'nt reading my SD card.

Well it turned out good but not as good as I wanted.:notgood: On tuesday morning I finished up with the hood pins and started installing the nose. I had some real fitment issues and after fighting with it for about an hour I realized that the air dam that I created was pushing the nose away from the car and not allowing me to bolt up the sides. So I had to trim about 1/2" off and was pissed if I had test fitted it before paint I would have realized this and fixed it then. It was perfect and now I have an area that I have to fix. So much for rushing. Yesterday I did'nt get jack done and got up early this morning, checked a few things out and crossed my fingers and drove for the first time in 3 years to work. It ran great and I still have to tune, but my laptop battery is dead and I can't do shit. Since moving the battery to the truck I cannot keep a charge so I have to figure that one out also.

I had to really cut the ABS up for the FG to have something to grab onto, not really sure if this is going to work. I used FG hair this time and spread it out more. After that I wet sanded the nose with 2000 grit and layed on 4 coats of clear. It looks really good and hopefully tomarrow I will put it back on the car. I have off Tues. and wens. so I can finish up. While I was waiting for it to dry I took the car for a spin down the road with no front nose which was really getto looking but did'nt care I just wanted to remember what it felt like.:thumb:

Well since my wife had to goto work at the butt crack of dawn this morning (working retail sucks) I got up early with her and busted ass on getting things done to the car. I took more pics of things I have installed. So today I finished up wiring my GM3bar were the MDP and a GM IAT sensor which I wired into the stock IAT wire that used to go to the gmMAST. Fired up DSMLINK and checked if they were reading. After some renaming it looks like they are working ok but won't know until I drive the car which is after I finish the bumber. The bumber was wet sanded and the f-ups were fixed and a final coat of gloss black was applied.

I also included a better pics of my W/I setup and the battery box I fab'd up.
