Well, the trans has a hole blown in it. I made arrangements to have it rebuilt at Jacks trans...and I take it out only to find a hole in the trans.

I sent pics to Jack's and they said they could fix it... so off it goes. So far everything I thought was wrong has been worse than I thought. Oh well. At least i can play my I pod in the aux jack on the stock stereo...while the car sits!!

My short term goal is to get it so I can drive it...that seems like a real challenge at this point.

I guess I can't be mad. I bought a car I never saw figuring it would need everything. I had no idea how right I was.

I just keep reminding myself, project car dude....project car dude....

Just hidden by the lower engine crossmember. Took it off and found why the trans would not hold any fluid. it looks bad to me....but jack's said it could be fixed, so I guess I'll see what happens.

I am sure the inside is a horror show!!!!

Well, it is bad...Jack's told me it was one of the worst units they had seen. The bearing from the front diff failed and bounced around inside destroying most of the inside of the trans. I had to kick down for core unit.

So the front driveline damage continues...here is what I have had to replace because of the former owner's maintence neglect:

    Both front wheel bearings
    Two front axles (DSS upgrades)
Rebuilt Trans ( Jack's "value" stage)
Rebuilt tranfer case ( Yes, that was shot too)

I could replace the whole front suspension, which I will do eventually....but I was hoping to do the motor and trans first.

After I get it back to drivable condition ( Which feels like never) I am going to clean the hell out of it and let it sit for a while. I have to heal up from the raping the front driveline has done before I can start on the next part of the car.
