More progress, shortblock assembled

Posted 10-30-2009 at 10:13 AM by DeNoZZo

I got my fuel pump rewire kit installed yesterday and finished assembling my short block. Now I just need to get a long block gasket kit, oil pump/front case, headstuds, headgasket, and all new t-belt components and that should take care of my long block. Then I will still have things to get like the turbo, exhaust, clutch, etc. Although I think I may just put a lot of the old stock parts back on...

Strut Tower Rust Patch, Other Progress

Posted 09-12-2009 at 03:08 PM by DeNoZZo

I finally got the rusty ass strut towers all patched up. Now all I need to do is grind down the weld spatter, and paint it. I also got the new oem piston rings put on my pistons. Anyone know where the gap is supposed to go for each ring? And can anyone confirm that the cut part of the second ring faces up? That's how I understood it to work, so that's how I put them on. Summer Motor Build

Posted 06-29-2009 at 11:52 PM by DeNoZZo

I've saved my self a little money this summer for my motor rebuild that I have been planning on doing for a long time. My car currently has 148k miles on it, pretty rusty struts, and just a whole lot of things that need to be freshened up. This isn't going to be one of those all out engine builds, but rather a fresh start.... a clean, fresh start. I'm planning on doing a stock rebuild with arp studs...
