The New Season:

The Car: After looking back at last year's disappointing season, I found the car performed fairly well once it was sorted out. Therefore I didn't see much need for too many performance improvements...not to mention the PGT rules package severely limited what could be done to the car. Due to what the SCCA called, unsafe speeds, all PGT cars
were forced to install...

Pre-Race: Once I threw my 'new' blown motor, I re-installed the old rally motor. I tightened every last bolt and triple-checked everything on the car. I still had vivid memories of this rally last year and I knew how hard it could be on my 200,000+ mile DSM.
Assuming my PGT competitors didn't have any problems,...

Pre-Race: After a disappointing rally last month in northern Minnesota, I was looking to increase the points gap between myself and the 2nd place competitor and give myself a greater cushion. After the ECU replacement, the new car seemed fairly sorted out.
Up to this point, my only co-driver had been mybrother, Bob....

Pre Race: The rally car was officially totaled at the last rally in Park Rapids MN. I had two and a half months to build a new rally car. Luckily I had become the local 'DSM recycling yard' and had accumulated a few DSM's in various conditions over the past few months; an overheated blue Talon, white eclipse with a bad trans, black cherry Talon with a bad turbo, black Talon with bent valves, etc....
