Stupid Oxygen Sensor
For weeks, I've been getting bad mileage due to my front oxygen sensor being lazy. It was damaged from the coolant leaking into the exhaust. I ordered a new one and it came in. I knew I was in for a match of the century since they're notorious for being frozen. Several blasts of WD-40 and too sore muscles later, I retreated to the site looking for help. PB Blaster was key as well as a flame torch. I went and got the former. Round two began, and the match started off again with me spraying generous amounts of PB Blaster and tackling it. No luck there. The match wasn't over however. I soaked a rag with PB and threw it at my opponent hoping it will saturate it enough to loosen it. I have retreated to the safety of my cornor once again till sunrise where I shall see the results. Frankly my oxygen sensor socket is starting to break. The sides of the sensor is starting to wear to smooth and pretty soon will lose the hexagonal shape that kept me in play. If PB doesn't pull through for me, I will have to use deadly force of fire. Wish me luck.

You should spray the PB blaster on when the car is at operating temperature, then again when the car is cool. Then when breaking the sensor lose be sure that the car is at operating temperature again.
That is what helped me. I could have busted the stock o2 loose after 95k miles of Utah driving with a hand wrench. I used this method during my turbo install and never had to use a breaker bar throughout the whole procedure. |
