So i got my 90 gst, i already own a 91 1.8 but i def wanted a turbo car, so we picked her up but she was overheating so we took out the thermostat and ran water threw her, anyway long story short, here is what she needs!
Fans (Current ones dont turn on)
Thermostat
Front rotors and pads
BOV
Tires And Rims
Alternator
Air Filter
And of course an oil change
From what i can tell on the receipts she has a new
tranny 30k miles on it
clutch and flywheel
python alarm (which i dont know how to use)
also has fuel to air ratio gauge which works
and a boost gauge that doesnt work
the dashboard lights up either green or blue
the front headlights dont pop up, and thelights in front of them have been emptied so its a weird look
has all new axles, airbag suspension(dont know what taht is) powersteering rack, belts, timing belt change

If I'm not mistaken, and airbag suspension is where your car rests on "bags of air" instead of the normal suspension, which are blown up by a pump somewhere. They say it offers a smother ride, and its a common thing for ricers to do(or so I've seen). But it sucks for performance(hints why ricers do it). And on a side note, not to bash, but that car looks horrific, I hope you save it from its molested state, and restore it to its original 1g beauty.

the bov was stolen so he put a pipe from autzone to bypass it, the interior is mostly gone also, like i said in other posts were the back seats were, its like a gigantic sound proof box for subs, and in the trunk tis all sound proofed, im gonna start empying out the car, the engine runs good, tranny pretty sweet, my boost gauge aint working and i have no clue about that, anyone know what the stock paint code is for that car? its maroon u can tell by the inside hood and inside the car and the hatch and spoiler

Goodluck, Honestly I wouldn't even bother stepping up to the task of trying to save this poor thing, Personally Id part it out and get another one without the cosmetic headache

Hopefully your turbo is not ruined since you have no blow off valve...

The car needs some work. You say the tranny and clutch are good ..The motor obviously runs and has a new timing belt you say, so throw in a bov which should drastically make a difference, grab a thermostatand alternator..Tranny,clutch and motor are the main things and they seem ok .. Check the wiring on the fans it could be something stupid..Run them to power with a jumper see if they come on. Whats on there of the body kit looks as though it was put on descently..If you want a turbo car you got one, I think you could deffinatly put it together with a little tlc. Also some people Ive seen put the headlights on a different switch somewhere so they can control how much they open..Run a jumper to those motors too on the lights ...The boost gauge obviously isn't going to work...Start off with the main stuff first get it running right then worry about cosmetics (gauges and a front bumper)...Also if you have air bags there must be a pump for them somewhere...You can also piece together an interior and bumper pretty cheap...Honestly doesn't seem that bad...Good project car..Good Luck
P.s. Check every possible fuse first.. |
